Tonight I am having HM lamb hotpot, HM pickled red cabbage and broccoli. Batch cooked item from out the freezer as I spent a couple days last week prepping and re-filling the freezer. Had awful few days with work (education sector) and needed some real comfort food.2

Mushroom and parsnip pie with some rather sad looking cabbage, carrots and some onion gravy. Was going to do some potatoes but don't really need to with the pie pastry.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I had vege toad in the hole, but pudding batter was a bit runny, so was a bit soggy. Daughter had vegan sausages with onion gravy, husband had meat sausages, all with cabbage and root veg mash.
Dog had the leftover chicken with her kibble. She was a very happy dog. 🐶3 -
We had meatballs tonight, kids had wedges and broccoli, DH and I had last nights leftover roasties and cooked veg made into bubble and squeak. Creamy gravy sauce all round.Books read 2023 - 49/753

Quorn sausages to help use them up as OH gone off them now (prefer Richmond veggie ones), last of the sad lookint savoy cabbage and some boiled potatoes with the other half of the HM gravy from the freezer.
Two rolls also liberated from the freezer stock today, one for OH work lunch and i had the other for breakfast with some square sausage (also from the feeezer).
Trying to minimise the need to go to the shops and make use of what we have in as overspent on the food budget last month despite me trying to get snacks in for xmas before Dec (most of the overspend was on drink since we couldn't go out anywhere)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I made hotpots.
Daughter and I had vegan quorn chunks, carrots, mushrooms, celery, onion with sliced potatoes on top.
Husband had a liver and bacon casserole made into a hotpot as above, without the quorn chunks.
Served with green beans, sprouts and red cabbage.
Followed by Christmas cake.3 -
I've had belly pork with stuffing, cauliflower cheese and swede. Crunchy crackling on the side too. Had a brûlée for pudding.2

Used Aldi ready roll puff pastry to make cheese & onion pasties for dinner.

Fancied something different and had a small portion of saag aloo and naan breads which needed eating, so found a recipe for an easy vegetable biryani to go alongside. Tasty, but not sure I’d make it again.Books read 2023 - 49/753
