Yesterday was bbq ribs, wedges and PSB plus corn on the cobs.

Today was pork loin chops in cream, mustard and honey sauce with wedges (again), carrots and broccoli.

We had pasta, I had mine with roast veg and feta and olives.
Husband had his with seafood and chilli pasta sauce.
Daughter had half and half (her choice)
  • Made a lovely new recipe. Salmon baked parcel with leeks, and courgettes with a sauce made of grated ginger, garlic, soy sauce, splash of rice wine vinegar, olive oil, Chinese 5 spice, lemon.

This was served with a slaw made of red cabbage, white cabbage, carrot, onion, cucumber and mixed with a sauce made of peanut butter, lime, chilli, rice wine vinegar, little bit of sweetener. Gorgeous.

Had all intentions of doing a nice Christmas Eve buffet, but I am feeling a little sad today.
I think it finally hit me that I wont be seeing my sons and daughter says she will be staying in bed tomorrow.
Then to add to it all the Christmas tree lights stopped working.
We made the mince pies which we were going to make last week they stuck to the tin for the first time ever.
I dropped a bottle of gin and smashed it on the work surface.
    Worse things happen at sea.
On my unplanned trip to Asda to buy new lights, which was in the end a string of ordinary lights, they had loads of stuff reduced to 5p.  I picked up a few bits and so for tea we had ham, greek salad, garlic bread, vege pork pie, potato salad and beetroot salad.  With a few crisps.

    Happy Christmas everyone.

JIL argh, how annoying, I hope you picked up some more gin on your trip too.
I got a seville orange and lime bottle in Aldi this week, in fact we have enough booze to sink a ship, think i went a bit overboard but if nothing is open in terms of what we'd usually do, i guess we'll be drinking more in the house.
Dinner was pizza tonight. Picked up some dips for 49p in M&S and the obligatory Christmas Pringles.  Not a tub of treeslets to be found though (we've already scoffed the two I'd bought 😳) oh well, sure we won't starve. In fact I'll need my jaw wired shut soon.
