Tonight I’m making Nadiya’s beetroot and feta pasta, it’s lovely.

I had a few eggs to use up (the hens are laying well!) so for puds this week I made a tray bake which was a layer of sponge topped with puréed Bramley apples and covered with meringue. Sounds a bit strange, but it’s delicious!

Keeping it simple tonight, I’ve got a cold, just a boring snotty nose cold, no Covid symptoms 🤞

so, roasted chicken thighs, with stir fried sprouts and bacon, some spuds for DH swapped for cauli mash, feed a cold and all that 😉

If it has defrosted, lamb stew with organic lamb scrag.
  • Last night we all had freezer fish and chips with sweetcorn and peas. Tonight something with chicken, might do sweet and sour if I can find any tinned pineapple lurking in the pantry!

Gammon, roast pots, parsnips, carrots, courgette, stuffing, bread sauce, gravy and cabbage with Yorkshire puddings.
Treacle sponge and cream for pudding.

  • Sadly no pineapple found lurking in the pantry, so sweet and sour chicken became tikka spiced chicken and peppers served in chapattis, with sweet potato fries and salad. Very nice it was too!
