We are having home made nando's.
Re apples, I always use eating apples in my crumble and never add sugar to the apples.
I love the apple cake recipe on mortgage free in three blog.
    link.

Nuked a portion of pasta with courgette from the freezer tonight, with some strudel I'd taken out the other night and a good helping of cream.
Talking of apples, i picked up some more lovely free windfalls today from the lady round the corner. Also found a pear tree too, unfortunately the pears on the footpath side are too high and I'll need to ask permission to pick on the other side as it's a private site (commercial, I'm not asking to hop into someone's garden 😂 but should ask nevertheless)
Seem to have missed the elderberries this year sadly, most have either dropped or are sundried on the trees now.

Lamb steaks roasted in butter, garlic and rosemary, with cauliflower mash and bacon and cabbage, will make enough of the sides to have again tomorrow with chicken, save me doing proper cooking again, first day back at work after leave 🥴
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130
  • Lamb steaks here tonight as well. With mash. Not sure which veg, a shopping delivery came last night with lots of choice of veg. Yorkshire puds and gravy.

I’m doing chicken breasts wrapped in bacon and pan fried in garlic and sage leaves, to be served with steamed green veg from the garden. Desserts this week will be raspberry trifle (using a bag of shop bought frozen raspberries, and a generous slug of Chambord!)

Bought husband a proper cast iron burger press from Williams Sonoma via Oxfam. He now makes us organic burgers and they are outstanding. Tonight he used organic pork mince with dried sage, Italian chilli and garlic flakes and black pepper. Really tasty and only 2.60 for 500g organic pork mince from Sainsbury's, which made four burgers.

Cripsy coated fish fillets with mash, peas and carrot. And way too much birthday cake (victoria sponge with cream and jam). Yum.
