Lovely Islandmaid, lovely thought, lovely action xxx.
We have lettuce again, some nice icebergs so lunch today will be a good salad with some of the lentil and cheese loaf I baked yesterday, not a bread loaf but a savoury vegetarian version of meatloaf. Supper tonight will either be the rest of the stew and dumplings I made yesterday or, if we are full from lunch, some pasta with a sauce I'll make from all the veg that need using in the fridge.

IM how lovely and thoughtful. I bet there's some really lovely celebrations in these past few weeks which weren't as anyone had planned but will be fondly remembered in years to come.
We were supposed to be north of the border this weekend for BIL wedding today, obv postponed now. Although that does give OH a whole more year to actually write his speech and plenty of additional material!
So I braved the supermarket last night, first time since they all started letting certian numbers of people in. It was ok, all very polite in a very British way, lots of 'excuse me, pardon, opps sorry, sorry, ugh this social distancing is hard in an aisle'. I ended up doing a larger than usual shop (more like the big once a month ones i used to do before we had this supermarket locally) so i shouldn't need to go back anytime soon. Its not that I'm worried about going out personally but the queuing takes extra time so the term 'pop to the shops' no longer really applies. Plus if i don't have to go out then that's one less person mingling with others atm.
I did end up picking up the last big bag of compost (guy at the checkout only needed to key in the code so didnt have to get any nearer to me than other shopping) and a couple of plants for a pot at the front. Felt a little like i shouldn't be, but i was there shopping anyway and a bit of front door cheer shouldn't be underestimated.
After all that though i was late home so dinner ended up being a scotch egg and trifle.
Must try better tonight.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Afternoon folks,
I braved the supermarket yesterday and managed to get what I needed, which was mainly fresh fruit and veg and some eggs. Brunch today was poached egg on toast, followed by a fresh fruit salad. Tonight we are having chilli cheese burgers, served with a side salad. I’ve made a blackberry and apple pie, so might have some of that later warmed and served with ice cream.Well Behaved women seldom make history

What a lovely gesture IM, that fudge looks absolutely delicious and so professional. I’m craving fudge now.
I have started making the base of a chicken fricassee for supper tonight, to be served with a small amount of linguine (I don’t have much left, so am trying to eke it out!). It’s the Hello Fresh recipe and has lots of mushrooms, carrots and shallots as its base - it’s smelling very appetising on the hob.
Dessert is loosely based on Eton Mess - I have defrosted some raspberries and blueberries and mixed them into some whipped cream, but then realised I didn’t have any ready made meringues (and I can’t be bothered to make any) so I have added some broken up savoiardi ladyfinger biscuits instead. I s’pect it’ll be okay 😀7 -
