When I go home at lunchtime I will put the brisket in the slow cooker, it wont be touched till at least 7pm so should be lovely by then, tonight it will be served with roast potatoes, mash, honey roast carrots and peas, lashings of gravy.

Some lovely meals being had tonight! We're having the burgers, chips, onions, mushrooms & salad we should have had last night (due to a late hospital appointment we ended up in Nando's for dinner).
  • Just had homemade soup and cold chicken for lunch and supper tonight will be a family dish 'Grandma's curried eggs' which is a using up odds meal and uses hard boiled eggs, curry sauce, ham/bacon, rice, grated cheese and lemon juice and is much bigger in flavour than the sum of its parts.

  • Another late night, so a quick and easy Spag Bol. Leftovers again too, so lunches sorted for tomorrow.

Made a steak pie earlier in the week, so will have that tomorrow with mash, mushy peas and mint sauce... will keep Mr. M warm as he is off to watch the football tomorrow....my plan is to start plastic free wrapping of Christmas presents, have to say I’m quite excited.

I made a chicken curry yesterday with the chicken legs and thighs from the weekend's roast so we'll be having that with some brown rice for dinner. Haven't got any naan bread so will have with a pitta from the freezer.

I'm planning on making a casserole of sausage, onion, red pepper, mixed beans and passata but if I end up getting home late I might end up just doing a simple bangers and mash instead!

We're going out for lunch and a drive through the Forest of Dean as they have a colour trail for the best of the autumn leaves which should show nicely as today is brighter and less damp than yesterday was. Supper will just be soup and a sandwich later this evening.

Oh my we've found a gem of a pub HWK had steak, Guinness and stilton puff pastry pie with chips and seasonal veg and I had a half and half of cauliflower cheese and butternut and sweet potato (this half puff pastried) with mash and seasonal veg and it was superb! we shall most definitely be going there again (and again and again etc) Oh I am fed today!
