staff christmas party tonight, not actually got much enthusiasm for this but the place we are going to has good reviews and entertainment so this might help drown out the colleagues I don’t particularly want to spend time outside of work with!

I also think it's hard to raise quite the enthusiasm about a Christmas party post Christmas, esp when people are busy with dry January, veganuary, various resolutions or just glad all the parties and Christmas stuff is over and done with to get back to normality.

We had one in Jan once which was a Ceilidh ... it was a nice idea but just didn't have the festive feel nor could I really muster the enthusiasm post Christmas (I also have two left feet so organised dance is not my forte)

Anyway, talking of Christmas, dinner for me tonight was LO turkey, LO cranberry sauce with boiled cauliflower, petit pois and saut!ed spinach.

OH had quorn nuggets, chips and curry sauce (I had a couple of nuggets...they were yummy)

I had to unexpectedly work late, so picked up fish and chips on the way home. I bought children's meals, they were absolutely huge. Next time husband and I will share a children's meal. That cannot be right, can it?

Lunch for a few pence. Bought a bag of leek and potato soup mix for 5p last night so emptied half of that into a pan of water, added half a chicken stock cube (36p per dozen) and a handful of oats (75p per kilo). Will be having the same tomorrow unless I find more reduced veg to add during tonight's trip. :)

I have just had a microwaved jacket potato with cheese and beans for lunch. Inspired by the post above, I think I'll make leek and potato soup ready for later, need to harvest the leeks first though.

I was planning a day of cooking and pottering but didn't quite happen due to a lie in, OH having friends coming over early evening / late afternoon and me going out. So that will be tomorrow.

As I was going out, dinner ended up being a chicken and mushroom slice with saut!ed spinach. OH had pizza with aforementioned friends.

Tomorrow may be stir fry. We shall see.

I have a whole chicken in the slow cooker at the moment but not sure if DH is up to eating at the moment. If he is, it will become part of a 'roast' dinner, if not, I'll have some with rice and salad. I still have leek, bacon & potato soup in the fridge too. Lunch is likely to be soup or beans on toast.
