Pulled jackfruit, LO chilli and vegetable rice here (the retro yellow stuff, yum)

Well I was a bit sceptical about the jack fruit, but actually it was very nice, with the sauce you'd be hard pressed to know it wasn't pork.

  • I am trying to find a recipe from this old book for Christmas stuffing.
I remember some of ingredients were: sausagemeat, onion, apple, prunes, mace/nutmeg but not sure how much sausagemeat to start with .As it's 1968 pr0bably 1lb (500grms).

If anyone has come accross this book I'd be keen to know ?

Not quite "what are you having for dinner tonight " but the nearest topic I could find.

  • I bought a pack of pork casserole meat & veg from As.a £3.08 so cooked yesterday in SC. This morning I split it into 4 sedrvings, 3 for freezer and one for tonight. May add a few potatoes too but no other veg needed as all were in pack. Just bought a vacuum sealer so have used that for first time. Merry Christmas all.

Hi Frith: is that "mince pie" of the savoury variety, or the Christmas dessert?! ;)

P.S. We have had mince pies (Xmas type!) for the past 2 evenings: sneaking in a treat before it all kicks off properly next week . . . Lovely with a nice glass of hot orange juice.

Easy oven tray of spicy, garlicky chicken thighs and roast veggies for us tonight. I'll do a little dish of Greek yoghurt topped with smoked paprika to cool down the spicy heat.

Smells delish, in the oven now, Can't wait.

Out for final pre Christmas social this evening. Salmon roulade and a burger with sweet potato fries.

Feet up back home now, zero plans to go out tomorrow and can't wait.

We had a pre Christmas family meal last night, lamb tagine with a veggie version for DS2’s GF, cous cous with lemon juice, olive oil, corrriander, pomegranate and toasted almonds, also made flatbreads. Basque cheesecake with dark fruit coulis.

    Leftovers tonight;)
