Pasta n sauce for lunch today with some added ham and a handful of sweetcorn – it’s the broccoli cheese one

Tonight’s tea will be turkey escalopes with whatever veg I have in the fridge – tomorrows tea will probably be the same as I am away all day at a memorial in our nearest city

I have just made a cheese and red onion flan which we will have just-warm from the oven with a big green salad.

I will be interested to see how the flan turns out. Usually when I make one, I pour beaten eggs and cream over the filling .... but today I have tried a variation of a Nigel Slater recipe in which you make a roux first, add milk and cream to make a thin(ish) white sauce to which you add the various cheeses and some beaten eggs. It looks very nice in the oven, so I hope it tastes nice and the texture is good!

    Chicken burritos here
  • large salad, plus some tuna and sweetcorn mixed with lighter than light mayo and sweet chilli sauce, enough left over for tomorrow night as well I don't mind having it two nights in a row and it helps to use up my tin stash :)

A rather student like dinner of LO rice and some baked beans with chopped sausage mixed in. Added a splosh of Worcester sauce too.

Does anyone remember Lea and Perrins sprinkle and spice from the 90's? Used it loads at uni (flat mate introduced me to it) but seems to be discontinued these days.

  • I had a bit of a meal planning/taking things out of the freezer in time to defrost fail, and so I had three bean chilli. Which would normally be fine, but I also had the same for my lunch. And will be having it again for tomorrow's lunch. It's tasty, but I'm not sure it's three meals in a row tasty...
  • second helping of Tuna,Sweetcorn and salad for me today, last nights was delicious so I am more than happy for round two :):)

Gorgeous day here, windows opened wide to air the house, washing blowing on the line, is getting cooler in the evenings now though, reminds me must get DH to chop some wood ready for when we get back from holiday, the woodburner will be needed :)
