I have a busy day, so DH is in charge of dinner, he was making Fish and chip noises ;) I will have the fish, no chips, and strip the batter - it won't be my fault if a bit stays on :D

  • I'm using up stock room stores before we move house so tonight we'll be having tamarind chick peas with flatbreads and plain yoghurt and using up some of my home made chutney too. Blackberry compote (using up freezer stocks too) and ice cream for pudding and a cup of black coffee.
  • Today's lunch will be a ham and pickle baguette, followed by a piece of sponge topped with apricot jam and coconut. For dinner tonight we're having chicken in a creamy mushroom and leek sauce, with local new potatoes and some green veg.

We had our fish and chips, queued for 15 mins for fish and chips recommended by Rick Stein as being the best in the UK. The fish was delicious very fresh, but the chips were not the best I have had. We had these at lunchtime so later on we had cheese, ham, tomatoes, poached egg and toast.

Was going to be prawn salad and jacket spuds here, but we have a bit of a squall going on today, o might change that to sausage and mash for the men, and saut!ed kale and bacon for me.

Prawns are frozen, so will keep till the sun comes back :D
