We've been out for a birthday lunch today to a local fish and chip bistro. We all had cod and chips, mushy peas for DH and I, curry sauce for DS. It was lovely, fresh fish, light crisp batter, proper chips - a real treat. They offered us the dessert menu but we were too full.
So tonight's dinner will be something light - carrot and coriander soup from the freezer, and I've just put a rosemary and garlic focaccia in the oven to go with it. A slice of birthday cake for pud.0 -

Mushroom rice from the Remoska cook book with a little cubed cooked gammon added, running out of fresh veg so carrots and broccoli for me with addition of parsnip for OH. Lemon drizzle cake or Bara Brith if OH needs filling up, I have finished the strawberries bought earlier in the week.
I need to meal plan for a few days away in the caravan next week, mainly try and use the Remoska and the microwave, gets too hot having the oven on in the summer. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

Last day of our holiday, we had a late breakfast of boiled egg and toast. Then later on we stopped off at a tea garden and had a Bakewell tart and coffee.
For tea I popped into a well known supermarket and bought the dinner, ready meal curry with rice, onion bagee, nan bread and poppadoms.0 -
