Back from a holiday to Germany where we discovered a restaurant that had many ways to serve schnitzel and lots of lovely things to do with venison.  On the way home stopped in Bar le Duc and was recommended a restaurant that turned out to be listed in the Michelin guides and the meal was stunning.  cerviche of tuna with fennel and calf trotters in a truffle/morelle cream.

Tonight back down to earth - jacket potatoes.

dodgy tums last night so I made myself 2 small chicken rolls and only managed to eat one.  OH had one as well as a bowl of soup.  No doubt due to holiday excesses.....

Someone has a toothache so has asked for soup.  There's a couple of back your own baguettes and some ham or pate available as well.

Been blackberry picking, so blackberry and apple crumble and custard as puddings probably for the rest of the week.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

blackberries should be put on yoghurt for breakfast.  Apples should be made into pies served hot with cheddar cheese.  Of course others will have different ideas.

Apples gently cooked in butter with cinnamon and caramelised with brown sugar, and then the blackberries added and cooked down a little before adding to the crumble.

Blackberries with yoghurt just don’t compare.
