  • I think yesterday was so nice and warm that we all (I know we did) skipped the cooking and ate fruit and salad but we had lentil soup at lunchtime too!

Dinner this evening will be Smoky Black Bean burgers from the Co-Op, I got some reduced last week and they were so delicious I actually (shock horror!!!) paid full price for some more this week still only £1.50 for two and worth every penny. We'll have them with pickles, ketchup, and a slice of cheese in buns and with a nice big salad. Still have some rhubarb compote and Greek yoghurt so that's there if we have space and of course our cup of coffee to finish.

We have a 16 foot row of rhubarb on the allotment, we classify it as a forest! and towards the end of the picking season we've discovered that there IS such a thing as just too much rhubarb! it's nice to have enough to share though and there's always someone who will take a couple of kilos so it doesn't go to waste xxx.

The bean burgers in my Co-Op are in the fruit and veg section, they are reddish in colour and there is also a Broccoli and Cheese version which is OK but not so much to our taste as the beany ones.

I had a lentil and veggie lasagne for dinner tonight, using up some old green lentils - only enough for 2-3 meals left now! Also used up a couple of soft carrots along with an aubergine & courgette which I bought specifically.

There's enough left for dinner tomorrow night as well.

I had a slice of nut roast made on Sunday and frozen in portions, some shop bought roast potatoes from the depths of the freezer which were a bit oily but not as bad as I thought they were going to be. Cabbage and mushy peas. Husband had steak and kidney pie. Base from freezer. I quickly made pastry for the top. He had the above veg but not the potatoes.
    Icelollies for afterwards.

I am craving soup, what is wrong with me?
