Finishing off yesterday's sausage, veg and pasta bake. It was really tasty!  A naughty fresh cream chocolate eclair for pud.

Skillet chicken last night was fantastic. Tonight, it's aforementioned Iceland sea bass fillets cooked from frozen. Have run out of parchment paper, so foil parcels, with lemon and perhaps olives. Unsure about veg. Could be steamed courgettes.

pretend kfc with coleslaw but also likely some sort of chips.  There's a big bag of wedges in the freezer so maybe those.

KFC coleslaw is great @Brie but IIRC it contains sugar.

I have been buying Slimming World sweet potato chips from Iceland, 3.25 for 750g, as they don't spike my blood glucose at all and zero nasties.

I was stunned by the sea bass fillets from Iceland. Not large as stated on packaging, but full of flavour and didn't take long to cook from frozen. Will be buying those again.

Friday night supper is up in the air. I've got a recipe from Farmer's Weekly, which uses canned salmon and cheese. It could be made more Mediterranean by swapping out the Cheddar. It looks to be quite a cheap recipe and gluten free.

Or we could have a Deliveroo and pig out on houmous, tzatziki, olives, taramasalata, guacamole and gluten free pitta with grapes or yogurt.

Off to hospital and I can be delayed,so there is good grub for us later. Any left over, into freezer in meal sized boxes. Boom!

It wasn't actually KFC at all but lidl coleslaw and tesco breaded chicken which we agree is better than the full grease affect you get from the real thing.  But I've just checked the coleslaw and yes there is sugar added.  I don't like the kfc stuff, or at least didn't when I tried it about 20 years back.  I only like the lidl or tesco so will check tesco to see if it's a better option.  I know it would be best to make from scratch but we don't have alot and would be only using a small fraction of a cabbage.  Not like others in my family that will eat a whole cabbage in 2 days (each).

What do you mean about the sea bass fillets not being as large as stated?  Did they mislabel them?  OH buys frozen fish regularly from Iceland.  He had some of the smoked haddock for breakfast this morning and was grumbling about the pieces being too small but I would assume the overall package would weigh what it says on it.

What type of films does Frank like to watch?  Beethoven?  A Dog's Purpose?  Certainly not Ol' Yeller (or at least not the end).  Don't recommend Marley and Me either.

There’s a Disney film called The Biscuit Eater, which stars a dog just like my Rufus 😁

Dinner plans got switched around when I bought a large YS chicken earlier today. It’s currently roasting and will be turned into a number of different meals over the next few days (Mexican chicken and black bean wraps, chicken and vegetable pie, coronation chicken salad). Tonight it’ll be just roast chicken and veg. None of this was on the week’s menu plan so I must update it all now! It does use up quite a lot of random bits and bobs though!

@Brie the fillets were more dab size than sea bass and only two in a bag. Cheap though. Tasted terrific, must admit.

I haven't had the smoked haddock from Iceland in months. Looked it up and it's now processed in Hull and uses turmeric for colouring. We will have to try that again.

Young's has removed the annatto norbixin which was used as colouring in their kipper fillets with butter and replaced it with curcumin from paprika, which is healthy. Kippers = herrings and they are an oily fish found off Britain as well as in the Mediterranean. Just 1.60 for a 170g pack at Iceland, so pretty good value for a filling breakfast.

Still haven't figured out what to eat tonight..
