  • I had half a can of baked beans that needed using up and fried up some mushrooms and an egg to go with them.

DD will be joining us for dinner, I’m making a very simple med veg pasta with olive oil garlic bread and salad for them.  I’m having some of the smoked sausage we bought last weekend with salad.

DD is vegetarian, DS is vegan, DIL is Pescatarian, I eat Keto and hubby and SIL, bless them eat anything, we are a joy to restaurant staff 🤣🤣 (we always phone ahead and warn them)

I'm without a hob and oven, they have both been removed awaiting the installation tomorrow of new ones. So I am left with a microwave and a Ninja (I could get the camping gas hob out but I really can't be bothered!). I'm going to attempt making a cheese sauce in the microwave, and roasting some cauliflower florets in curry spices in the Ninja then turning it all into the Ottolenghi curried cauliflower filo pie which @goldfinches mentioned a few days ago.

  • @C_J - I'd love to hear what you think of the recipe and best of luck taking your tin off.

I had picky bits from the fridge yesterday after a hot and exhausting afternoon. My Wednesday walking group had a lovely walk and then we went to a local museum where the cafe has seats in a nice, shady courtyard to enjoy a cold drink and a sit down. One of the other walkers sat next to me and simply couldn't get it through her head that I am slightly deaf and couldn't hear what she was saying. I ended up being very direct with her whereupon she spent the rest of the time we were there interrupting my conversations with other people to ask why I wasn't talking to her! Grrrr.

  • Has everyone else left the country? I had lentil dal, quinoa and sugarsnap peas followed by almonds and peanuts in an effort to boost my protein intake.
