    Halloumi, airfry potato slices.  Home made houmous to use up one of the many tins of chickpeas.

    chicken thighs for the BBQ, likely with some spice mix (we have several to choose from).  There's also a cheese boule and hummus as well as salad - iceberg, tomatoes and (shudder) cucumber.

    @JIL I keep thinking I should make my own hummus - what do you do for yours?

    @Brie
    I use tinned chickpeas, I mash a few and blend the rest because I like a bit of texture.
    I use tahini if I have it or sesame oil if I havent.  I'm a simple and quick cook, so anything that works and tastes nice is my methodology.
    Yesterday was chickpeas, blended with sesame oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and a little garlic. Then mixed in the mashed.
    I do flavour with piri piri sauce, or add beetroot, sometimes yogurt and other things but yesterday I just wanted something to go with the halloumi that I had spiced up.

    Today I have a chicken out, so it will be a roast dinner for husband and inlaws, I think I may make myself a jacket potato while the oven is on. Daughter has got a salmon and orzo pasta ready meal.

    Thanks @JIL

    OH is doing a leg of lamb, new potatoes and peas.  He specifically went out to buy mint jelly - or so he said.  I know he actually wanted to get some cigars.....

    Lovely lunch yesterday, wood fired scallops to start with mussels and fennel salad for main, hubs had crevette to start and crab salad for mains, kids had vegan Mede to start (Padron, olives, hummus and flatbreads) wood fired vegan pizzas for mains - then ran into friends so waaaay too much wine and an early night 🤣

    today was fridge foraging, plenty of LO’s and picky bits washed down with buckets of water 🫣

    Not really cooking for the next couple of weeks as we are on holibobs, though I did chuck a few pizzas in the oven for us all last night. With six adults, three small children and three large dogs in the house, it’s certainly more MSE than eating out all the time.

    No idea what to do about food tonight. Mister CJ is on a sailing course so will likely be ravenous by this evening. If the rain holds off, maybe fish and chips overlooking the sea 😀
