I picked up a reduced macaroni cheese at 80p, so I had that with salad.
Made a seafood spaghetti for others, which used up some on the turn tomatoes.5 -
Defrosting some ready meals that I got from various TGTG bags over the last couple of months. Bean chilli and rice, meat chilli and rice, fish pie and chicken with dumplings. First come, first choice (I suspect I’ll end up with fish pie 😁) Not the healthiest, but we’ll all have a large portion of veg on the side and I’ll have a bit more room in the freezer!

Wish I'd bought a couple of fish pies I contemplated in Lidl earlier - but I didn't, so it won't be them. Maybe fish and rice insteadFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Bangers and mash with some veg (tenderstem broccoli, sliced portobello mushrooms and courgette, stir fried in garlic butter) for us tonight. Banana custard for pud - on Tuesdays we have free fruit delivered to the office for us to snack on, and nobody EVER wants the bananas!4

Tonight we are having cornbeef hash using up the potatoes and things I already have in. Plenty of veg hidden for the DS and DH!
I am currently trying to use up what I have in to avoid any waste and save some money... I have a 500g bag of red lentils which go out of date next month... any suggestions what to make with them? I have cupboard staples, spices etc and can purchase some additions if needed. Any suggestions appreciated

I use lentils for dhal, lentil chilli, lentil pate --anything you would normally use meat for really. Also, lentil soup and for padding out casseroles and stews which means less meat needed.

Personally I don't think something like lentils will be that bad in the next few months even if they go out of date soon. I would expect it's a "best before" date rather than a "use by" one.
And on the home front - I've been told i'm making chilli for dinner!!
