I've made a dish of cauliflower cheese, so we might have that with Ninja-roasted butcher's sausages tonight.
However I have managed to book a Too Good To Go bag from the cafe at work, which may include hot food dishes as well as cakes and fruit/dessert. According to today's menu it might therefore be Thai red chicken curry and rice and/or Thai green vegetable curry and rice so fingers crossed for that! This is my first ever TGTG bag and I am super excited - I've even set an alarm on my phone to remind me to nip over to the cafe at the appointed time this afternoon4 -
OH ended up doing last night's pasta with the Lidl tomato sauce with extra garlic and a lot of big prawns. Delish!
Tonight he bought meat pies. I'd like to have a bit of lunch or a cuppa but there's the remains of our old boiler spread all over the kitchen floor. Can't wait for it to gone and the new one pumping away. I'M COLD!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. DH and I went out for our monthly lunch ‘date’ today (we go when we’re both wfh and the kids are at school, cheaper and less faff than going out in the evening!) - we’re very lucky to have a number of lovely local restaurants nearby. Today we tried an Italian we hadn’t been to before and had the 2 course lunch set menu - I had tomato bruschetta and rigatoni alla nonna, delicious and I’m still full 😋 DH had mini calzones and parmigiana with sourdough.Kids are having leftover chilli repurposed as a burrito and salad. I’ll make extra in case we are hungry later but most likely the leftovers will go in the freezer for a later date!Books read 2023 - 49/756

Went to the chippie to nab F&Cs for last night. OH had asked for plaice - which is normally ginormous - but they didn't have any. So I got him haddock instead and just the regular rather than the large. Going by the look of it I don't think they are actually that different in size - he huffed a bit at it being regular but his eye lit up when he saw it. Think we were given about 4 portions of chips as well - most of which were binned as excess to requirements.
Tonight it's pork chops from our market meat guy. OH has suggested just roasted veg with them. Tomorrow we've a concert in the evening (Bach St John's Passion) so will just be having sandwiches at tea time - smoked salmon have been suggested so I'm off to the shops at some point.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
