My own recipe red lentil mixture with as many vegetables (it's absolutely no good without onion) as I can find and added garlic just in case. (of vampires) May put some grated cheese on top but then again, may not. It's a bit late but I did have other things to do this afternoon. . .Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Homemade Aubergine, cauliflower and lentil curry. With seeded bread cause I’ve run out of naan bread and can’t be bothered cooking rice. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
I defrosted a small lamb joint, a boned, rolled, half shoulder, which I bought 75% off at Sainsbury’s in January. I have cooked it as a pot roast over root vegetables, leek and onion celery, and barley which will be our stew for a couple of days.
The joint is just resting while I have a variety of greens, a carrot, a parsnip and some swede steaming over the simmering potato for a proper Sunday dinner, just a day late, I have the gravy to make. We have a can of Aldi pear cider between us, another Sunday treat, I like it but a small tumbler is plenty for me.
I baked a tea loaf alongside the casserole, and put an apple crumble and some flapjacks in as soon as the cake was done. A small portion of crumble and cream for pudding.
That lot should do the first half of the week.2 -

Yesterday OH picked up some KFC style chicken from M7S as part of a 3 for £10 deal. Chips & onion rings plus coleslaw (which I "forgot" to share). A bit extravagant for a Monday dinner but enjoyed!
Tonight is soup and sandwiches - I got a lovely fairly soft baguette from Lidl. There's plenty of ham, cheese, tomatoes and tins of tuna too. So many tins of soup in the cupboard too so decisions will be made latter.
Tomorrow will be using up more of the M7S deal (breaded fish, poss with more chips). Thursday we're off to the continent for a few days. So at some point between now and then I will be prepping left over peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes for the freezer to enjoy when we return no doubt with all sorts of continental treats. Worst case scenario when we return there should be some things in the freezer we can jumble together for a late supper and there's a tin of croissants in the fridge should we need it for breakfast the morning after. Must suggest OH picks up a UHT milk so I can have coffee too.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
