@JIL that looks spectacularly unappetising!!Tonight we had a mixed salad with a large slice of very tasty restaurant quality quiche (salmon and dill for Mister CJ, leek and kale for me) and a side of air fried breaded mushrooms. Every single part of our dinner, right down to the sachets of Hello Fresh vinaigrette and mayonnaise, came from the Community Fridge, and it was delish.3

@kerri_gt no, we were at a local theatre with a national touring group, they were fabulous and OH was called up on stage, much to his embarrassment 🤣
@JIL that look’s awful 🫣

The chinese last night was good but not spectacular. OH was in a bit of a mood and I think that affects his cooking. I suspect the prawns were just slightly undercooked which would not normally be a problem but after the first few I actively avoided them. But the rest was a nice mix - sliced water chestnuts, yellow pepper, spring onion & pak choy in a oyster and ginger sauce served with rice plus the veg spring rolls to munch.
After the hard work last night I'll suggest ham or tuna sandwiches or similar tonight. Have to go to Lidl to get some coffee anyways so can easily pick up baguettes - granted we did have rolls for breakfast so OH might go for something else instead - we do have jacket potatoes available so maybe he'll have one with beans or something else equally odd. @Islandmaid if you ever get to see The Hundred Watt club, highly recommended. Very entertaining and you never get the same show twice. They had two couples up on stage too, one had to gift wrap the other (Festive show) it was very entertaining.Sounds like you had a good night.@JIL that does rather look like something my cat may have brought up in the week 🤢 what on earth was it supposed to be?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Tonight will be a vegan fake steak pie I bought reduced (not the nicest - I much prefer the Qu0rn or L1nda McC@rtney ones, but it'll do). I've got frozen roasties, so I'll put them all in the Instant Pot with carrots and peas on roast and see how I get on. Still learning the ins and Outs of the Instant Pot.Live the good life where you have been planted.

For anyone interested in what to avoid it was pasta alfredo. I honestly think I have had better pot noodles.
Last night we were out to a family gathering, it was so lovely, the dad had built the house and he and his wife have died so the house will now be sold. Its a large house and over the years has been the venue for lots of gatherings.
His family arranged one last party, with the mum and dads friends coming round for afternoon tea and in the evening the younger generation (most in their 50+ age range) There were family members playing musical instruments and others singing along.
So I have a bit of a sore head today.
Will do a roast chicken dinner. As simple as possible.7 -
