    Evening all late reply

out most of the day at an appointment

came back just before six, stuck in some fish fingers and chips then added some peas on the side. My daughter ate most of it. More stuff emptied from the freezer :)
It must have been that kind of day. Breaded pollock (cheaper than cod and no haddock to be had) with chips in the air fryer with mushy peas.

Monkfish and mussels tonight and tomorrow, from BBC Food, probably extravagant but it is the weekend. Carrot and sweet potato soup from the soup maker, first time I have tried both, soup if lovely and warming.
  • I managed to snaffle some YS lamb reduced from £9 to £3 so that's in the slow cooker along with a pack of casserole veg I got off Olio. It's a long time since I had a proper Irish stew and I can't wait!

We went to get our Christmas tree today and as a result we were feeling properly festive, so we went out for an impromptu lunch. We’re still feeling full so I am cancelling our dinner plans - but I have a portion of chilli in the fridge which I could stretch to feed us both with the addition of some chips if we get hungry during the football later on.
  • I'll be having a prawn bhuna and rice whilst watching the football....plus a glass of wine or three  B)

I believe there may be pizza with the football here.

Assuming anyone wants to watch it.  I'm not a sports fan (winter olympics aside) and I get tired of hearing all the swearing from the other end of the sofa about Qatar in general and players diving and doing amateur dramatics as they writhe about.
