No idea. Supposedly we're out to a pub (first time in how many years?) to hear a friend play with his band. No idea what the music will be like as the guy has very eclectic taste. I'm hoping for something bluesy.
So we might have something like a sandwich before we go out. There might be food at the pub. Or we might have cheese on toast when we get home.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. OH has cancelled the plans for the evening due to not feeling 100% and asked if I would make "that chicken dish*". He won't say if he wants it with bread, rice, potatoes or pasta which is a nuisance.
*chicken pieces rolled in herbs and breadcrumbs and browned and put in a casserole. brown onions in the same pan to scrape up all the bits with the help of some wine and/or stock and mushrooms and a tin of tomatoes which then gets chucked in with the chicken to finish in the oven.
He's tutted that I bought white wine instead of red so if that attitude continues I'll add some courgette as well just to annoy him.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Brie if that attitude continues tell him to cook his own dinner and sit down with a large glass of that white wine.
Tonight OH had mushy peas and a vegan sausage roll.
I had a portion of venison sausage casserole with some Yorkshire puds.
There's some coconut cake for later which i might have to pour some custard over as it's a bit dry.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

yes you are right of course. Then again he probably normally cooks more days in a week than I do so I can't really complaint too too much.

We’re babysitting the grandchildren tonight (so several hours of crawling around on the living room floor building Hot Wheels tracks, oh my poor knees!) so we’re having a less-expensive version of a Chinese takeaway. Sainsbobs have the duck pancake kit for £7.50 (and it’s really good), and I’ve made some special fried rice, a chilli beef and green pepper thing, and some hoisin chicken.4

Yes you are right but I went ahead and did the chicken anyways. Turned out lovely - best batch I've made in a long time (usually about every other month). I remembered the secret was to finish off the fry pan with the left over crumb mix for coating the chicken, fry it to coat in the fat etc, add some more wine to it and that add that to the casserole. Nice and unctuous.
And yes he does often comment about what I'm cooking, how I'm doing things, why am I.....???? And no I don't do the same back as he considers that as interfering. Even if I see he's cooking and I go to set the table that's interfering (wrong cutlery out, wants to eat at the table instead of in front of TV or vice versa). It's just part of the relationship dynamic. But it's also why he does more cooking because comments about how I made chilli or a roast or... has resulted from me just looking all big eyed and innocent when he asks me when I'm making dinner.
"well you suggested X so I assumed you were going to be cooking!", say Brie! Well most days anyways - but "that chicken dish" is mine. Otherwise he can make coq au vin or whatever!!!
