OH did one better than me and had dessert as well - an orange/chocolate torte served with that crispy bubbly sugar stuff and salted caramel ice cream. I hate orange/chocolate anything so wasn't tempted by that but he did give me a taste of the ice cream. Absolutely gorgeous stuff from a local company and completely vegan. Don't know how they made it but it was lush.
Net result is no cooking tonight but if I/we feel peckish later there's some goat's cheese roulade in the fridge and loads of oatcakes. And wine.
I made some bagels yesterday and although the end results tasted nice they didn't look very attractive so here's a photo to give you all a laugh.
Things were going well until I got to the dropping them into a pot of boiling water stage! You can just about tell that they entered the water as rings but they didn't leave the same way! I might have another go some day now that I have more of an idea what not to do.2 -

Tonight is going to be a salad of some form with blue cheese and pear. With a posh dog from M&S (via the freezer)
Really trying to make an effort to use up some 'stuff' in the freezer - lots of odd bags of bits. Esp now the house that used to put out lots of Olio stuff has stopped doing so.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Using up bits and bobs to make a chicken, veg and noodle stir fry tonight. I picked up loads of Hello Fresh sauce sachets (ketjap manis, sriracha, teriyaki, soy sauce and harissa) from the community fridge last week so it will be seasoned with an assortment of those!3
