kerrie_gt - yes you can use sour cream with/instead of the milk.

Chow mein with onions, beansprouts and mange tout (YS) (plus beef for OH) with vegan "duck" pancakes (YS).
Followed by glazed doughnuts (YS), strawberries from the garden, blueberries and plum (YS).3 -
We had vege cottage pie, quorn mince and puy lentils, with loads of veg, topped with cheesy mash, brown sauce and cabbage.3

I had a cheese, cucumber and tomato roll and made this Best No Churn Lemon Ice Cream Recipe - How to Make Lemon Ice Cream (food52.com) to use up a half a carton of double cream that had been languishing in the fridge for ages. I topped up the cream to the right amount with some f/f g.s. yoghurt and the mixture tasted lovely so that's one less plastic pot sitting in the fridge.5

@goldfinches that lemon ice cream sounds delicious, I may have to make some of that at the weekend. I bought a Magimix Gelato Expert a few years ago (for the grand price of £8, I think) at one of the Nettlebed sales, but don't use it nearly enough so this is my push to get it out of the cupboard again!
Tonight's dinner choice is at the request of Mister CJ, so we will be having sausage, egg and chips2 -
OH went shopping yesterday so last night's dinner was Tasco's KFC style chicken and chips with some salad for me. Towards the end of cooking bunged in the left over bbq thigh from the other night to use it up and to compensate for there being only 1 thigh in the new pack, all else legs.
Tonight is to be lamb's liver and cornwall new potatoes, likely with some cream and fresh chives.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I finally get to have the chilli crab linguine I have been craving all week! The linguine and red chilli came free from the community fridge, and the tinned white crab meat chunks were from my Brexit-Cupboard-of-Doom stores, so an inexpensive dinner. I even have a couple of dinky bottles of chilli oil to sprinkle over the dish, they were left over from a lunch meeting we had at work which included a Wagamama delivery 😀4
