Our meal plan said quorn and lentil cottage pie, however I had to drop off a parcel outside the big tesco and was lured in. I bought the meal deal, for the wine really and picked up the chicken tagine.
It was too late when I got home to sort out the cottage pie, so it was a mezze type of meal, with the tagine, couscous, actifry sweet potato and halloumi, Greek salad and pitta breads. I really enjoyed it.

Spinach and artichoke pasta. I had mine with Quorn bacon, OH finished off the pepperoni that needed using. One of my absolute favourite pasta recipes.

Just about to make some ice cream sandwiches using YS chocolate chip cookies, cookie dough ice cream and nutella 😋

Is the ice cream sandwich as simple as it sounds?  It's never occurred to me to make them and they are one of my favourite summer treats.

And the pasta....how do you do that?  Not the pasta itself of course but the spinach and artichoke bit.  Tinned artichokes?

Yes! Bakery sized cookies flat side up, spread on a layer of melted chocolate spread and top with a scoop of ice cream. We ate ours like that (as OH had already eaten half of the cookies 😂) but ideally I'd top it with another cookie!

This is the recipe we use for the pasta https://damndelicious.net/2012/08/05/spinach-and-artichoke-dip-pasta/

We substitute the chicken broth for vegetable stock and the pepper jack cheese for Cheddar. The recipe calls for tinned artichokes, which I've never been able to find. We use jarred artichokes that come in oil (we fish them out of the oil). We also blend the sauce slightly with a hand blender before adding the cheese and we don't bother grilling it. It's really tasty ☺️

I share your pain, I once caught sight of these in my local Sainsby's about 3 years ago and they promptly vanished, never to return. Earnest enquiries at customer service came to nothing as the staff member was not sure what they were and then couldn't find them in the computer so could tell me nothing. I'd bought one tin to try as I wasn't sure that they'd taste nice in water rather than oil and found them much more to my palate so if anyone spots them do please let me know where.

I did cheese & onion rolls with hm garlic wedges and a fried egg on Tuesday.
Yesterday we ate at the SA - Lancashire Hot Pot + carrots + brocolli/gravy followed by treacle sponge and custard.
I baked a double batch of cheese & onion rolls so will have them today with roasted potato bits and roasted veggies.

If you have any local Italian deli's or stores it might be worth asking them too - we have a massive Italian store (open to trade and public) and I bet they'd stock something like that.

    Thanks @Smoosh!

As for us tonight...."get some rolls when you're at Tesco" he says.  "To go with the omlettes" he says.  So I got rolls to go with the omlettes.

And I spotted some sour dough buns that I thought would be nice with the burgers we'd bought this morning too.

So guess what we're having for dinner?!!!?!!!   Fish & chips!!!
