I'm afraid it will be kfc tonight.  MiL is in a hospital about a 40 minute drive away and the only time OH can visit is 6:30 so we'll go together and then stop off to pick up dinner on the way home.  We've got to start eating earlier (8 pm is normal) as I know it is much healthier for us but tonight it's not an option.

@Islandmaid. I thought the seabass was lovely but I have only had it from there meaning I can't be sure if it IS good compared to bought else where, if that makes sense. I really like the seafood multi buy deal at I/land, as there is a good variety of choice and as you say a bargain price. I usually pick three from my favourites...trout/ salmon/ smoked fish / seabass / prawns... but I think there's lots of others to choose from too.

    Chilli and rice.
Yesterday I did a check of freezer and cupboard to check what food is in there. Then a rough list of possible meals for the next few weeks meaning I can put shopping off for a little bit although I will start needing fresh veg (and to replenish treats/cleaning products etc) but as for veg i can manage to use a bit of frozen or from cupboard and at least I don't NEED to shop right this second.
Chilli came out strong as something that can be made fresh a couple/few times in the next month not to mention the left overs frozen from said batch(es) or had for a second day... so it will be chilli tomorrow too.
