    Friend’s birthday today, so we’re  ‘doing lunch’ at a local restaurant, I’m hoping they’ll have mussels on, will take a grain free roll, just in case. If not, they do amazing deli boards 🥳

    That lunch sounds delicious, IM.

    I’m making a prawn, vegetable and noodle stir fry tonight with a sachet of chow mein sauce thrown in for good measure.
  • We had lasagne, garlic bread and salad with a side of mozzarella sticks.

    Salmon en croute with a mix of green veg is planned here but daughter number two texted at 5am to say her contractions had started, so imminent arrival of new granddaughter could throw all our plans into delightful chaos today!

    Lovely dinner last evening - friends over for Burns night so starter of smoked salmon, goats cheese and crab pate with oat cakes then haggis mashed potatoes and mashed turnips and carrots (together).  Dessert was crannach (I think) - whipped cream with whisky and honey mixed in and then layered with crushed raspberries and toasted oatmeal.  I was the responsible adult and had dish duty so only had a bit of wine while OH & friend had a lovely selection of whisky to compare.  I had thought we had much too much haggis but friend was enjoying it so much - I think he had fourths!!!  There's more than enough for our dinner tonight so lovely easy leftovers.  But only 1 serving of crannach left so there may be an argument.

    @C_J any news yet?

    Roast squash with HM coleslaw. Son2 is also having a mini pizza from the freezer, souped up a bit with sun dried tomatoes and more cheese on.

    @Brie i finished off the haggis neeps and tatties here too. Our neeps also had some carrots mashed in too.

    Tonight I'm cooking up another sri Lankan pie thingy from Aldi, picked up a bag of baby potatoes in butter from Olio today so they're going in the oven to roast. OH will have his with beans, I'm having broccoli that was from Olio last week....and still 100% green.
