That sounds like an idyllic evening, IM! I’m going to get the last of the Christmas cards written tonight so that I can get them in the post tomorrow morning (why oh why do I always leave it so late??)

Tonight is chicken + prawn + peppers + onions + mushrooms + pak choi + tenderstem broccoli + noodles = STIR FRY!!!
Late?  And you've most of them done??  I haven't even started yet!!  Well sort of.  I've printed off some return address labels & have MiL's address list ready.  Sad to say it's getting shorter with each passing year as,  well, there's more passing.  That's why I ensure there's return labels on them so we get some sort of notice.  4 years living here and we're still getting cards for the previous owners and no way to deal with them other than the bin.  Sad.

But I'm happy for your pak choi and broccoli stir fry (the rest is just a bonus).  Fish and chips for us.  Fortunately the portions are smallish.  And there's strawberries for afters.  And I've just been told I have to prep them!  Blinking hurrah!

  • Slow cooker pot roast chicken with olio potatoes, carrots, swedes and tenderstem. That will make stock for carrot, orange and ginger soup for tomorrow, might knock up a rescued apples crumble as DS1 returning for christmas, but poor DD almost certainly got covid, first pcr inconclusive but her flatmate has it so probably stuck in London until the 29th (  (still..... one less to feed but I will miss her :(

We’re eating from the freezer for the next few days, I’d like to see some daylight in there before Christmas. Tonight I’m making toad in the hole with mash, peas and gravy. Cheesecake for pud.

Likewise.  I still have 2 frozen thingmes OH bought me for lunch at some point...buckwheat pancakes with goats cheese, need to be microwaved which is a challenge as the stupid thing turns itself off and on at random.  There's cheese, ham, schnitzels, coleslaw, other salad, tomatoes....eggs....I could go on and on.

(not all of that in the freezer of course, some just in the fridge or hanging about the kitchen)
