Re slow cookers if I’m cooking on low it is an all day job. Ie turn it on at breakfast then turn it off for dinner. In other words a good eight hours. If I turn it on at lunch then it goes on high. My slow cooker is a non fancy £14 one from Tesco.

Same as mine, I will try again but I can't get over the no liquid needed. If I use a slow cooker, to me I am doing a casserole or stew.

Tonight we are having pie, husbands is beef and mine is quorn with kale and mushy peas.

I done a generic ' roasting joint ' from Tesco in the slow cooker the other week, 7 hrs on low, just a splash of red wine at the bottom ( and I mean just a splash) and it was very nice It was well thawed before I started though

I Really CBA today. I'm cold, I've been cold and wet all day and it's been the type of day where my stomach thinks my throat has been cut, there's been no filling me

I forgot to bring a red onion in to do the dish I had planned, it has to be red in this case, so I'm looking at the fridge and a pack of sausages. Now I should think about veg and mash with them, but my tummy is saying chips and beans. And tummy is going to win :)

    Katsu curry stir fry here.

Finished off the last of the streaky bacon in a sarnie earlier (thought there was only 2 rashers left and to my surprise another was hidden under the other two so I got three) Sadly the tiger bread was a bit stale but did the job.

Not sure about tomorrow. Keep thinking it's Tuesday today...I wish!

A knob of butter (or splosh of oil) in a lidded frying pan with about 1/4 pt of stock (I used chicken from 1/2 a stock cube), 3 medium spuds cut into 1inch (ish) pieces, black pepper, clove of garlic left whole(optional). Pop everything in the pan cover and simmer until spuds are softish but not falling to bits. Remove lid and turn heat up, reduce liquid turning spuds every few minutes until stock has disappeared and spuds are golden on the outside and soft inside. They are lush:)

Pink pie (minced pork version of shepherd's pie) with a mashed potato, swede & carrot topping.
I have some past-their-best tomatoes that I might slice & put between the meat and mash.
Jeez! Don't you just hate predictive text. :(
    Should read OINK pie.
  • Left over turkey salad and corn on the cob for me. Got to think of low carb ways to use this bird up, still over half left
