Like many fellow OSers, I've had rather a good week at the chazzers. I bought 6 books for £1.50, including one I had been thinking about the previous evening, which I had read at school and wanted to re-read as an adult. I also found some amazing curtains for an upholstery project, not cheap but perfect - 2 pairs for £16. The pièce de r!sistence was a telephone seat with storage - similar to the design below and perfect for an upcycling project! - for £5! The next day I found a perfectly matched size cushion in a gold / pewter for it for £1.50, so all's well

Indeed! I’m not sure the bargains are quite as plentiful as they were before the downturn but still plenty to go round in my experience!“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. Not cheap but still a bargain - a pair of Ecco shoes which don't appear to have been worn and were £25 instead of the usual £80 odd.
I'm quite squeamish about shoes other people have worn, but I'm 99% sure these have only been worn once if that. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
A couple of sneaky purchases this weekend. A teal White Stuff knitted dress in a wool and cotton blend, long sleeved, fitted like a jumper to the waist and then slightly flared in the skirt £3.99. A navy blue Next jumper with light blue swallows on it, 3 large concealed buttons to the neck - similar to Fat Face and Joules in style. This was from one of the expensive shops (Mind) in town and was £4.50 but I loved the birds.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I'll be over in October and am hoping to add to my teatowel/embroidered tablecloth hoard, er, I mean collection. Luckily my travelling pal likes to hunt as well. I'd love a tea set but getting it back could be problematic.0 -
Tried on a lovely Jacques Vert, grey, silk shantung dress with delicately beaded shoulders in the Otley, St Gemma's 99p shop today. It was one of their 'specials' and priced at £9.99 as it was brand new and had the original price tag still attached of £103! Just a bit too snug....would not have liked to sit down in it IYKWIM!!
Nothing else of interest either spotted or purchased today.
