Two weeks post c- section and I'm noticing my lack of charity shopping. Obviously have to recover a bit more before being able to lift the almost 2st toddler into the double buggy to go out on a regular basis!

Have lost nearly 2st myself due to gestational diabetes in the pregnancy so some of my wardrobe needs a bit of an overhaul. Some of my fave tops are just stupidly massive on me now!!

A couple of books for me, including a compilation of Sartre's existential novels for £1 each, and a £3 Per Una blouse for me that actually fits my mum perfectly, so I have let it go....

Even when BF? BTW lifting should be out of the question atm; that includes lifting the hoover. Let your DH organise it.

I found a pair of white Converse low tops for DD this week, very clean with no obvious signs of wear for £4.99.

Please cheat when it comes to getting toddler into buggy - slides, stairs, the kerb - use every available height differential to minimise the height you have to lift & if at all possible, Just Don't. Turn the little dear loose in a secure area for exercise & otherwise keep 'un tethered rather than try to lift? (I can recall the yells, but negotiation, bribery & blackmail are vital maternal skills, and useful in the gentle art of training them to do things for you. Two year olds *can* load the drier, albeit one garment at a time, and switch a (filled) kettle on for you.
I slightly shudder to think what they might bring if you say you need a drink while breastfeeding but if the jug is in the fridge, they may find lifting it as much worthwhile effort as you find lifting them! Stuff taming dragons, training toddlers is absolutely worth it. Not least as once they start useful ways, you extend their range. (Say proud mother of teenagers who can operate correctly washing machine, tumble drier, unload shopping & put it all away, cook basic dishes, use the hoover & even change their own bedding - though that latter is still nudge-initiated.) Oh and all school letters that need signing are brought with a tested working biro and a cup of tea... Trust me. Coaxing your little sweetie one garment at a time is literally a baby step. It leads to all sorts of good things!

There will be all sorts of garments in the charity shops when you have told DH that he's in charge while you go for a controlled walk. (Every website I've read says that's OK exercise...) If you come across something amazing though, better a taxi than calling them all to come & join you... Happy walking!

Went for a walk around all of my local charity shops this afternoon. Got to the last one, (Sue Ryder, no. 11), thinking I was going to be going home empty handed when I spotted a basket of miniature, 15ml, perfumes priced at £1 each. They were by a company called Odeyma, which I had never heard of and all smelled very exotic. After having a sneaky squirt or two I liked one in particular called 'Seduccion' :o Carried on trundling about waiting to see how it settled' and came across a BNWT swimsuit by Magisculpt(?). My size and was even in the, now hard to find, long length! Black with purple/black/white striped crissy/crossy bands at the front, detachable straps and with what my grandmother would have called 'good corsetting'! (Proper bra cups and a teeny bit of boning at the sides). Fits perfectly and I even have hopes of swimming in it strapless without accidents! Priced at £5.50. Found it online at £24 in sale. By now I had decided I really liked the perfume so bought that as well. Then on the bus home a woman sat next to me and complimented me on my perfume :p

I’m working on my DVD collection. I like to listen/watch stuff while I crochet.
    My hauls recently:
Vampire Circus - omg is was my first horror movie. Started a life long love
Star Wars 2, 3 and Jumper - my Hayden Christensen collection is growing.
Hairspray, South Pacific and The King and I - I do love a musical to craft too.
I try not to pay more than £1.50 each.

DS is only 20mths though quite independent so still requires a bit more manhandling than a fully fledged two year old etc. Yes DH is doing as much of it as he canfor me but he'll be back at work next week.

Not been out with both of them on my own yet.

^ I helped a mum get junior out of her backpack baby carrier the other week -- had no idea how heavy little kids are! Seemed at least twice as heavy as he should have been.

I haven't bought anything recently as I'm supposed to be decluttering, but did spot a bargain yesterday -- a recent Soda Stream complete with gas cylinder and bottles for £2.50 at a community chazzer. Just the job for turning still white wine into `Champagne-style` fizz

    OK.
    Been to the city.
    13 charity shops.
    Nothing at all.

    DIG FOR VICTORY:
I thought about you when I saw the only piece of Denby. A Bakewell fluted flan dish. Felt perfect, no chips, no nibbles. £1.99.
Should I have bought it and offered to post it to you for your retirement fund?
If it had been a pie dish, I'd have bought it for me.
Just gone past the Denby Pottery Centre on the bus.
How can there be so little stuff locally?

On a slightly different topic, I watched Bargain Hunt last week & someone had a load of Glynbourne vases.
