Last week I saw a lovely M&S coat, navy blue with royal blue and off white broken checks, it's boucle and 50% wool, it is a sort of overcoat style, it was £4.99 but DD hated it so I left it. Anyway I popped back this morning and it was on the sale rail for £1.99, due to the warmer weather I expect. It is now mine.
    This sounds lovely.
And a fab bargain for a little wait - it obviously had your name on it. :)

Hi everyone, it's been nice catching up with your bargains today, especially the Hobbs dress. Very jealous. I hope you all had a lovely Easter too! Congratulations on your new baby Lucy!

I have had a hectic couple of months which involved dropping out of university to focus on my health and having to sort out a transfer for September, while juggling job interviews and other fun things. I realised this weekend that I hadn't gone into the charity shops for ages, so, because I had my first pay day on Friday, I decided to go into town today to have a rummage. I did go a little bit overboard today, but I think I needed it after the past month or so:

A Maison Scotch (??) checked blouse in muted mustard, grey and cranberry. It is made from a really nice quality thick cotton and will be nice and cool for summer- £4.95
A Laura Ashley cashmere-blend cropped jumper with a lace trim. It is really thick and in a nice stone grey- £2.25
Red batwing top with a see-through pattern by Biba- £2.75
A blue chiffon Crew Clothing blouse with a white bird pattern and a !!!!! bow. It is really pretty, but it does need a vest top underneath it as it is see-through- £2.49
A Pink cotton twill shoulder bag with pockets by Fat Face- £9.95. Expensive, I know, but I will use it when we go on holiday to Stratford Upon Avon in September.
BNWT navy cotton twill Fat Face skirt- £5.99. I was quite worried when I tried it on because it is quite possibly the shortest skirt I have ever seen in my life. Luckily it sits on the hips so it is long just enough :p. Should be very nice in this lovely weather we have been having.
A Navy blue Fat Face trench coat- £5.95. The tailoring on this coat is absolutely amazing and I love it dearly. This is my favourite bargain of the day!

Today in Stourbridge: A lovely Phase Eight top, £2.99
It was on the rail with a note "Sold but left behind by mistake"...I asked if it was still for sale and they said yes because it was on the rail. Really pleased, it looks hardly (if ever) worn.
    Normal people worry me.

I've not read any of this series yet although I do have 'The last Mile' in my holiday stash.
I like his books, the Camel Club ones and King & Maxwell especially.

Have you read Nelson De Mille?
Similar author (imho), although possibly a little more in-depth.
I thought his Night Fall was amazing.

He wrote 'The General's Daughter", filmed with john Travolta.

Charity shops always seem overflowing with cookery and gardening books; I genuinely have no idea why anyone bothers buying them new. How many different ways are there to sow carrots and make brownies anyway?!
    They are an EYESORES!!!!

Thought I was going to have to resign from this thread as I have found diddly squat lately :( However, today's rainy jaunt to Otley produced a few finds :). In the St Gemma's 99p shop....a necklace in exactly the shade of red I was looking for, (a pearlised droppy-disc thing suspended from a fancy clasp on three fine leather thongs), a navy long sleeved t shirt by M & S in fine jersey - perfect to wear as an extra layer under shirts and tops when wearing dark navy jeans. Another M & S top - with a black jersey back and rust & black patterned silky fabric front with two small zips running up from the hem at each side, (hope my matchy matchy tendencies can cope with a non matching back & front!). Then in the 20p shop I got a medium sized church candle still in it's cellophane wrapper. :p

She's a week old and 0-3 month stuff is too big lol. Thankfully lots of new born size stuff I've had handed down from friends etc as she is still a bit too good at spitting up milk when she burps!

All change from DS who was huge and hardly ever spit up at all lol

My aunt suggested David Baldacci. This was the first one of his that I have read. I will look out for the others that you have suggested, either at the library or cs.
No, I haven't read Nelson de Mille. Will look out for the author.
I am reading my was through James Patterson Alex Cross series. I have read all his Private books.
I am also reading John Grisham - the Rooster Bar at the moment - really enjoying it.
Claire Macintosh has published two books. I have read 'I see you' and have got 'I let you go' to read.
Have you read any Chris Carter? I have read the crucifix Killer, which was good. Have just got another one to read.
    Thank you Pollycat.
