I've now spent my entire December charity shop budget in two days flat but think it has been worth it.
I think this will be me tomorrow, after spending the month decluttering!
I can't get out until late afternoon so hoping there will be something left.
Feel like a teenager when "money used to burn a hole in your pocket".
Stay safe all its getting really cold.

👋 good to see everyone back! Lockdown news here is I accidentally and unexpectedly acquired a teenage border collie pup in October. He is brilliant fun but hard work and I would not advise anyone to get a dog that needs 2 hours of walking a day in the middle of winter. I’ve had to buy a few bits of new clothing from Aldi and online so I have enough warm and dry clothes - it’s so muddy at the moment I am having to wash stuff every day.Anyway! I popped to my local sue Ryder this morning. First post-lockdown trip. The charity shop gods were good to me today: I found a pair of timberland boots and a pair of caterpillar boots for a tenner each! The timberlands look barely worn; the cats more so. Am delighted as although I have some decent long dog walking boots they get damp and the. I have to put my feet back in them before they are fully dry. So very happy with these as they will give me lots of options in the next few months.Pleased to see everyone having fun bargain hunting! M100 xx12

Congratulations on the new pooch. Top tip, tire the brain not the body! I play “find it” on my walks - as we go along, I throw titbits (cheese, chopped up hot dogs, dried sprats - the stinkier the better) out of their eyeliner and then tell them to “seek” It takes them a wee while sniffing out the treats but sniffing really tires them out (it is also very calming for them.
Walking shoes must be the “in thing” on the chazza circuit Magpie. I was delighted to pick up a pair of Merrel walking shoes this morning. They were £8 but I don’t think they have ever been outside on someone’s feet. I also got a mint condition of Delias Frugal Food. It felt very good to be back shopping.6 -

Went in search of Xmas cards today - found some very nice ones, including some which had 'Seasons Greetings' instead of 'Merry Christmas' (in the SallyAnn, of all places!) Also found a pair of lined black velvet trousers in my size, pretty much unworn, for £4 and a magnifying lamp still in its box for £4.50 - which will be a great help in my cross-stitching2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

And same to Floss as well, I've just read the rest of the messages above and seen that you've found a copy too.
Does make you wonder about the donors not using a cookbook that is ideally suited to most people's current domestic situations though.
I happened to be walking past the window of the BHF shop in the centre of town today and there was a foot pump suitable for a balance ball on the shelf nearest the window, it came home with me and will be helping me to keep up my physio recommended exercise regime.
I also bought some planned Christmas cards from the same shop along with a bag of shaped Christmas biscuit cutters and a pair of fingerless gloves with grippy palms ( for keeping hands warm while grasping therabands etc.).
That little haul came to £10.47 and the budget is entirely and completely blown but it was nice to be browsing again.4
