Had meant to say that I'm desperate to get to the hospice charity shop to donate some goods that have been hanging round - wine glasses, Regatta jacket and various other stuff.

Hadn’t really got the funds for a Christmas tree this year. Popped into charity shops in St Johns, Worcs (one shut and one empty, 3 open today) and found a perfect, boxed Christmas tree for £5 !10

Was only able to visit three of the six CS in town on Wednesday, no luck with the mens size xmas jumpers but a few more good bits for DS and DD for this year and next. What I did really well on was joggers for DS. four in September, he's now needing 4-5 bottoms as well as tops and as he's in nursery five mornings a week, and this week he's come home filthy from still playing outside, so any extra pairs are good! They had a reopening deal in the Scope outlet and I got four pairs of bottoms, two other tops and a reasonable new age 5-6 coat for him for like £3.50!
Will visit the other three CS tomorrow when both kids are in nursery/preschool. Had DD in tow on Wednesday, took her Clarks outlet this morning, as suspected, is now needing size 7 shoes, having only gone up to a size 6 in September....Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Jan 2012: £16,000+ [STRIKE] Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Sep 2013: £13,023 [/STRIKE]

Miró you have just gone on my list of people I want to be when I grow up, such an eye!
I looked into three shops this lunchtime and found a backscratcher for £1 in the first one and then spotted a copper blancmange mould and a vintage charlotte basin, both also £1. I drew a blank in the next shop and decided that I'd look in one more before I went home for lunch and on the top shelf I found a cache of Kilner wide mouth preserving jars with the metal screwtops, lids and seals. I bought 6 for £2 each, they're £6.58 apiece on "earth's biggest selection".

Hello all again, I'm cackling at Miró's comment above and saying "yes, yes" to balabooberlies while hoping you will all agree that I did the right thing this morning.
Yesterday I bought all the jars I could manage to stagger home carrying, I had 5 1/2 km to go, and left a few more on the shelf for some other lucky soul.
But, I left a few minutes earlier than usual from home this morning thinking that the shop might not open before 10 am and I could put a note through the door or try phoning from the pavement or something and not only were they open but the door was propped wide open just as I got there.
So I nipped in and just asked could I put them aside and collect on my way back between 1pm and 2pm and the manageress said yes provided I paid now, I did and now am the proud owner of 5 further wide mouthed jars.
I staggered the rest of the way home weighed down by the jars, 4 x 400g tins of black beans and 1 pint of milk plus all my gym kit and coat, boots, hat, gloves, scarf etc. I'm exhausted but exhilarated about my haul.
I've now spent my entire December charity shop budget in two days flat but think it has been worth it."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
