If you add up the cover prices of the books, and where possible the "new" prices of other stuff, you can get a warm glow finding our just how much you have saved, so yes, definitely a bargain!Used to be Bogof_Babe. It did need updating!6

@Bogof_OAP you're quite right, thankyou. As I said before some days are more challenging than others.
On a lighter note I found the following wisdom in the book of aphorisms.
"It's always been and always will be the same in the world: the horse does the work and the coachman is tipped."
Onwards and upwards to one and all; night, night, and sweet dreams, goldfinches.9 -

The chazza fairy must have read my mind about wanting a new winter casual coat cos today she led me to the perfect one. F & F, burgundy, knee length, parka stylee with a beautifully soft & snuggly fur lining and thick fur edging to the hood. Showerproof and has a hidden phone pocket. Brand new - still has all the F & F tags on it but not the price and I cannot find it online even on eBay! Anyhoo, I paid £12 for it in the community shop and it fits perfectly, (was a bit concerned about fit as of course could not try it on). And...and....I already have all the necessary accessories to go with it8

@miro I think I know the one.. Not sure if you've tried searching "wine" coloured parka rather than burgundy .. If it helps any I think they were full price at £49 going back maybe 1.5 years ago in shops so you have done very well.

Oops, never thought of that! Anyhoo found it now on eBay...

That's a long link! It looks nicer in real life...brighter colour. Wish they had stated original price tho £49 seems believable as appears to be good quality. Have heard about that thing with fur lined stuff before, (making clothes ride up), something to do with the pile lying the wrong way???4 -

I'm getting rather cynical about crafty things that require a great deal of expensive kit to be able to produce any worthwhile result e.g. stamping. I think it wrong that to be able to try many crafts one needs to spend a lot of money.
Whereas if you consider knitting, crochet, origami and sewing you need very little kit to get started and can produce extremely advanced work with just the basic equipment.
Consider that some forms of embroidery need more expensive kit and that those have long been the province of wealthier women/families; so it seems to me that many crafts/skills are always tied to income level and are therefore used as status signifiers.
I think this also applies to being able to learn/play a musical instrument too but that's another discussion.
I'll climb down off my soap box now and I apologise for getting so hot under the collar about this. It is a hobby horse of mine that many crafts/pastimes are dying out in this country because of lack of disposable income and opportunity to pursue these avocations and that we are all directly or indirectly being impoverished as a result.
Sweet dreams all, goldfinches."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
