Quick swizz round 3 charity shops and nothing to be found. Foolishly left behind a large glass heavy sweetie jar at £5 which I know I'm going to regret.
Why oh why do I listen to plus one. 🐒
Saw some of my donations at circa £5 each but a bit gutted they are priced quite high perhaps they will now end up on £1 rail and someone will get a bargain lol.
Need /fancy some new (new to me) jeans but have to get out a measuring tape as no idea what size I am these days for the best fit.
No in's from charity but brought some like new Hamble Oak Clarks brogues in pink/beige colourway from eBay and very happy with those. I know I have 55 items in my wardrobe so I need to spend the day partnering up again at some point.
I do want a chunky cardi rather than jumper, as feeling the cold so will be on the look out for that.
May sell some of the wardrobe to fund new bits if I can find the energy. I have recently made around £350 on ebay so need to decide if any of that goes to a wardrobe refresh or all to savings, I expect it will be the latter.
I was really surprised each store was so very quiet but it was early doors no later than 9.30/10am ish.

Dolly I am a pensioner and despite being fit and healthy I don't know how much time I have left on this earth so I am not going to waste it hiding away. I will be very careful not to catch Covid or transmit it to others in case of no symptoms but that's as far as it goes. When my local dustmen/postmen/supermarket staff etc are instructed to stay home I may start to worry but they never have been have they. Funny that. All that clutter used to be money6

DigForVictory said:Much intrigued by a Brain Tumour shop - yes I know cs but my imagination has so much more fun. A really stonking likely Laura Ashley commercial fittings mirror?! Wow (how did you get that home?! Sounds heavy as well as gorgeous!)
You've mopped up the gore from eviscerated Hotters? Hurrah! Expensive comfort, now in unique Miro style!
Am observing Boris bounce Bakeoff - doubt he dare lock us down yet, but probably before Christmas. Ah well. Assorted festive & New-Year-resolute fabrics for masks & my relatives can survive without the Dig tribe coming visiting...May I ask please how much of your CS bargains do you actually wear. I work in a CS and always go in early to bag any bargains on that day. I rarely (never) come away empty handed but I am not as discriminating as I would be with department store buys because it's cheap. After a wash and several days (weeks) hanging in the wardrobe I sometimes can't think why I bought said article in the first place except for the fact it was a good make and fits. It then gets donated back and I hate to think how much money has been wasted over the years. I do keep some things that have become firm favourites but they are in the minority. I do wonder if CS shopping actually saves me money. What do you think?
Sayschezza, I wear virtually everything that I buy unless it has a secret minus point like it gapes on wearing it or there was something else I missed. I do like buying stuff to dye/alter though as well. I look at it this way if I only wear it a couple of times I have donated to charity and if I get it back to a chazza I am helping to raise a bit more.
Just back from a holiday in Cornwall/Devon and had a quick twirl round the chazzas in Bude but found nothing I wanted/needed. Then went for a twirl round Bideford and only found one item, a pair of Tu comfort sole ankle boots with a small heel and comfort sole, look brand new, £6.50. Pleased with them as I have plantar faciitis and my foot is very painful at the moment and they don't feel like they will hinder it.

I've been lucky that one of my local CS accepts donations to rear of store 9-10am and 4-5pm so on a Tue or Fri when I drop both DS and DD off to nursery/preschool, I can then take about 4-5 bags of stuff around there in the buggy, across the town centre square.
Having taken such a load last week, I then discovered that DS's new friend at nursery is about 10 months younger than him (DS's birthday is 5th September, the other boy is July right at the end of the school year) and much smaller, with a sister a year younger than my DD. They live in one of the council houses at the end of our road and I'll be honest, it's apparent that there's not a vast household income. So when I went through all my kid's stuff again, bearing in mind the silly amount of stuff I've bought them (both new and CS), that they've now grown out of, worn or not, with Mum's inheritance, I found another four bags worth of stuff that I asked if she'd want for her two and she said yes please. So, that went to helping another family a bit more directly. Like, wellies, thicker winter coats etc.
I was the rewarded with barely worn, box inculded, size 6, purple toddler winter boots from Clarkes for DD, would have been about £35 new, only £4 in the CS.
Have now been sorting through my own stuff again for further clearance. DH needs to do the same.

I persuaded OH to sort out his wardrobe today resulting in a big black bin bag of stuff for the CS. Lots were brand new but which because of his disability he can no longer get on. I then decided to do the same resulting in another bin bag full from my wardrobe. Will take them in tomorrow.

Unfortunately when I got it home I found the internal battery had leaked and corroded everything. When I wired it up temporarily it fizzled and smoked, so I'll be taking it back.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.6 -
I've had a lucky day browsing the chazzas between my morning appointment and home.
First I spotted an autumnal coloured liberty-a-like shirt and then I spotted a blue tana lawn shirt a few hangers along. I grabbed both of them and looked at the labels and the autumnal one was 100% viscose by the Edinburgh Woolen Mill and the blue turned out to be a David Nieper and almost the same price.
The blue is Lodden which is my favourite Tana Lawn ever so I'm in heaven especially as they're both lovely fits and both are size 10 (hurrah for successful weight loss).
In case you can't bring it to mind this is Lodden, although my shirt is the other way up (couldn't get that to rotate, sorry).
Lovely isn't it and really flattering to blue eyes.
The staff member at the cash desk commented that both the shirts had only been put out this morning and was very pleased to see them go so quickly as well, so that was nice.
I also found Abel and Cole's Veg Box Companion, The WI TeaTime Collection and Best Ever Slow Cooking Recipes so am off to bed to peruse in comfort.
Sweet dreams to all, goldfinches.10 -
I walked into a local town centre I hadn't been to since February today. The charity shops I went into had changed their layout so people can socially distance.
I found a sparkly silver/grey Oasis top for me and a navy blue jumper for my husband. Both £1.2025 GOALS

It has been such a wonderful sunny day that I walked into town before lunch and inspected a couple of charity shops. We have one Age Concern shop where practically everything is £1, and from there I bought two dresses. On to another favourite where I bought a pair of velvet M & S Collection trousers £2 and a Merino wool shawl for £1. So a total of just £5 and I hope that will suffice for this week, as I am running out of space. Once I have lost a little more weight I can have an initial clear-out of the larger items.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14
