  • Go over it with an antiseptic wipe inside and out. Leave open  to dry for 2 days.
All that clutter used to be money

I've washed a CK oil cloth bag before now, came up lovely with liquid detergent & cold wash.

I've broken my charity shop post-lockdown duck and actually bought something.

It's a Cath Kidston fabric bag in a denim blue with pink birds & pink flowers on, a beige strap and brown leather fixings/trim.
Cost £5.00 from the hospice shop and is in pretty good condition, not dirty, although it has what looks like a few biro marks on the inside lining at the bottom (which I'm not bothered about).

    My dilemma:
I like to wash things I've bought from the charity shop, either on a silk/delicate was or hand wash.

    The label says:
100% teflon coated cotton (excluding trim)
    100% cotton lining
    Leather trims
Spot clean with a damp cloth.

    What would you do?
Zip it up and wash the outside with warm soapy water and dry with a cloth.

Then unzip, turn it inside out stick it in my conservatory for 2 days whilst the sun is high and hot! It regularly tops 50 degC so that is my antiviral. Sunlight sure is a powerful disinfectant.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

Pollycat, that leather trim makes dunking in fluid tricky - sunlight where available, ruthless chemistry on the fabric but wipe, wait then maybe leather feed the trim? Lovely find though!
  • I just had a walk out to the same charity shop I went to the other day. I got a black jacket, a black long sleeve top with a heart on it, a Madonna t-shirt, a diamante hand bag mirror and a burgundy bag with a gold strap. I also got 5 beige/white tops that I am dyeing pink now. :) I did see a nice Oasis trench coat but it looked too small and you aren't allowed to try on clothes.
Oh so pleased for you, sounds like a nice haul for you today.

It was weird as I had an idea to get a vintage top and I thought of Madonna and the top was the first thing I saw when I went into the chazzer. :)
