A very exciting afternoon!
A trip to Ludlow (first time since March) and to Oxfam, with my older son.
Me - double duvet set with pheasants and partridges on, probably for my brother.
2 badminton racquets (£1.99) to replace the toy ones we have had for years.
Son - a Go-Pro, case, mounts, tripods, extra gubbins, extra memory cards and FOUR spare batteries!!!!!10 -
I had a good trip to a local chazzer this afternoon. For all of £10 I bought 2 Wallis blouses, 2 Wallis tops (am sure my sister and Mum will nab these for themselves!), 4 BNWT crushed velvet cushions which match my conservatory decor perfectly, a really cute mobile phone case, pencil case for my niece, beautiful compact mirror, a china teacup...and 2 books.
I love the days I can work from home, as I can finally make full use of my lunch hour without guiltNo man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.9 -
I found a beautiful white Mint Velvet top for £2.95. Fits perfectly (bit of a risk as couldn't try on). Can't breastfeed in it but will be great either when I stop or for date night sans baby...whenever that may be.7

Most of the charity shops around here are now open and seem to be working well with the one way systems and sanitisers etc.... Just the Cancer Research shop and the local hospice shop to go and we would have a full house again! Had a good day yesterday - found a Monsoon jersey top in a black and electric blue pattern for £3, a b/n Wallis khaki skirt for £3.45, a Gok Wan for TU dress which has a 'sucks you in' fitted undergarment, (needed for the containment of the 'isolation extra poundage'). This is in a pale lemon colour in a kind of embossed lace pattern and was on the sale rail at £2.45. A BNWT heavy duty white shower curtain from Dunelm for £3. And finally, spotted earlier and had to go back for it......a Phase Eight navy and white dress, BNWT and original price £99 - I paid £15 which seems a lot for a chazza purchase but the quality of the fabric and the complex structure of the design really appealed to me.7

Wow, Miró, you've done really well there. I walked to my local posh suburb yesterday afternoon and came away without a pure silk Jigsaw blouse that was just too pricy at £15 in the Oxfam shop. I did buy a D.G.Hessayon Expert and two Delia tomes along with a loose bottomed non-stick flan tin for a total of a tenner so can't complain.
That branch is restricting opening hours and the number of customers entering the premises as well as having special arrangements for going up to the first floor, which all seemed eminently sensible to me; though there were some other customers ignoring the politely worded signs and flustering the volunteers rather! I thought it rather mean to snap and snarl at volunteers only trying to do what they'd been told was best, but it was a very hot and stuffy shop and I expect people's masks didn't help.6 -

Got myself a new outfit today...started with a Jaegar black jersey top with a boat neck & 3/4 length sleeves for £3 in the community charity shop. Then in the big Sue Ryder shop I found a black/cream/orange floral print 50s A-line Skirt from Jolie Moi with a wide waist band and a voluminous flared A-line shape, side pockets, (pockets yay!!!!!) and an exposed zip fastening to the back. BNWT and originally priced at £64.... Chazza price £5. Perfect for a forthcoming 'Eat Out to Help Out' meal
Lot of nice bargains about round here just now - have had a big coat clear out to accommodate new stuff so will be taking a big bin bag of said coats to the Thirsk chazzas this week-end6 -
Yesterday I popped to my local hospice shop. Got a plant pot for a new(ish) indoor plant that’s been sitting on a plate for 2 months. Wasn’t sure it’d be big enough but thought I’d chance it for the £1 they were asking. Got it home, fits perfectly!6
