Floss said:I dropped off a blue IKEA bag at my local Barnardo's yesterday, picked up a couple of books, a pure wool polo-neck sleeveless sweater and a pair of dungarees (for decorating!). I then nipped into Age Concern and found a pale pink Ted Baker lambswool jumper and a couple more books. Final stop was our local Blind Society, where I found a Hobbs linen shirt, Hobbs capri pants, a Crew Clothing striped top, a Gap fine merino sweater and an RHS china mug still in its box.
All shops were well organised, with a steady trickle of donations and customers in all of them.6 -
I love Hobbs so well done. I did manage a sleeveless top by Jacques Vert for £3 which goes with a skirt I bought from e.bay so am very pleased with that. All that clutter used to be money5

Off to my first charity shops since March this morning - wish me luck! I do have some bits and bobs to take in, but I’m going to see who’s accepting donations in town first and then take bits in next week. I’m hoping to find some nice plant pots (indoor and outdoor), as I have a lily that’s looking a bit sad in its plastic pot. I’m also not entirely sure which shops are open where we are. I’ve looked online and it seems as though a few are definitely open, but by no means all. Fingers crossed!Every act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

A pair of new with tags, Fatface trousers for £4.50 😃
So comfortable, and one of the few brands that allow for long legs 😃6 -
I couldn't agree more re: not a nice social activity to charity shop anymore. I will persevere, as I don't shop much anywhere else. Waiting in line outside, sanitiser going in, don't feel like touching much, not much out as more space has been made, sanitise out. Adding facemasks yesterday has pretty much stripped the pleasure out of it for me. I may save my pennies for this time next year, when things may have improved.
Will still read your bargains here though.

Even it it’s currently not loads of fun, keep trying?

“I’ve always been an advocate of buy better, buy less; essentially meaning that choosing what you put into your wardrobe carefully, and buying a better quality product which will last you longer is a much more sustainable approach to living and something we should all be trying to do.”
Yes! A clothes designer reinforces the benefits of cs shopping! OK, masked & not allowed to rummage - but still, there’s lambswool, linen, Merino being found - seize this opportunity to upgrade your wardrobe sustainably, ethically, & enjoy the better quality and the benefits to the charities? After all, proper social distancing allows you to admire clothing from head to toe...7 -
Did the rounds of the Thirsk charity shops this afty and was pleased to find most open, (hurrah!). Came away with a b/n M & S straw hat in brown & cream striped straw for £3.99, currently selling for £20 and a bundle of pieces of variously patterned cotton fabrics, (are they called something weird like ‘Fat Quarters’? Meant for patchwork I think? Priced at 99p. Gonna use them for making facemasks now that I have almost perfected the fitted stylee rather than the pleated. I’m thinking we are going to be wearing them for some time so I’m aiming at needing 7 or so for a weeks supply. Will give any surplus to the community chazza to sell. Hate wearing the things .....make me feel dizzy after a while. Needs must tho.5

So much to read, so little time.5 -

Went out for a walk today despite the heavy rain. No queue's for charity shops...yay! On the half price rail in the community charity shop I got a Hobbs calf length linen skirt in a yellow and grey pattern for £2 and a b/n blazer stylee jacket but with a slightly nipped in waist in a burgundy shade for £2.75. This was originally from Dunnes but seems well made and good quality fabric - very pleased with this as it will be perfect to wear with a Hobbs dress that I have had a while. Have ventured out to a couple of restaurants recently so pawshish clothes are again being worn - still find it such a faff and quite stressful with all the R & R's tho!9
