Yay CS duck well and truly broken:
red Converse vgc £9
Lee Cooper blue and white stripy cowl neck tee shirt £2
Primarni lightweight red jacket(like a skinny puffer jacket) £1.49John Lewis curtains: a grey chenille type leaf pattern on white background £8I noticed an article in Guardian online 20 ways to stop buying new clothes forever. Surely it’s obvious.
i am also aiming to have a new policy of one in one out with CS purchases. The red jacket will replace. A couple I don’t really wear and I’ve also become more more keen on functional bags during lockdown so a few handbags will be going to CS.9 -
I went out for a walk at lunchtime and visited a couple of chazzers I hadn't been to since February at the same time.
Was happy to come away with a Maine jacket that looked unused for £2.50, a set new of cork-backed table mats for £2.50, and 3 books for £1.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.8 -
I was much intrigued by the Guardian article not least as it had never occured to me that there might be temptation to fall off the primrose catwalk by email. (Ahem, most of my list emails are tool stores, spot the space station & Lidl other than MSE but that just shows where I have deliberately spent or intend to spend money or effort. Sadly the whole beautifully-turned-out software, along with possession-&-operation-of-handbag software failed to install...)
Back to this facemask which ought to be a sight simpler but I hadn't allowed any fabric for binding the edges. Argh, but it will be beautiful once I've figured what to sacrifice!6 -
DFVAgeUK have agreed to take my 4 wheel walker.I'm going to walk it up the road (3/4 mile) and drop it off on Thursday.I might - or might not - have a wander round the charity shops and maybe into Aldi if it's not too busy.9
-
Hoping your feet are in fine fettle, that the walker finds a new & delighted owner & that Aldi is not heaving, but the charity shops tempt you! Says she up at 6 to ensure I was amongst the first into the supermarket & thus out & done before the local charity shops had removed their shutters let alone opened. Life can be so unfair (especially when you aren't organised).8

Aw bless you, DFV.I left the walker at the door of the shop (the lady came and collected it and seemed pleased), I'm sure it will find a good home.I did go to Aldi, no queues, reasonably civilised, not many people wearing masks.Iceland was OK, apart from one dimwit woman who thought it was acceptable to keep reversing her trolley. And was too stupid to understand which direction the arrows on the floor were pointing.I went into 2 charity shops, one had virtually no stock and no customers, the other had a lot of stock and 1 customer.I bought 2 books for my next year holidays (had one to Greece cancelled and we cancelled the other to Greece this year).David Baldacci Redemption and Jo Nesbo Macbeth. Both favourite authors of mine. 75p each. And a lovely quality Next shirt in silvery grey with white and purple stripes, will put away for OH for Christmas £3.50. All from Hospice shop.Feet are zinging a bit, walked home (3/4 mile, the longest I've walked since my operation).Really happy to get some of my favourite things from Aldi, OH has been doing the shopping at Tesco since January. But I do feel I've climbed the proverbial mountain and come down the other side safe.Didn't wear a mask, not sure how I'm going to feel about that.

Owch the feets! Me, I don’t go out without a mask (literally & figuratively - it’s a bit over 7 months since the lad died but some days it’s just much harder) in part as I have a very healthy respect for the medics who are trying to cope with the unremitting unknown & in part as Himself’s diabetes makes him an easy target. It’s not admirable to say I’m scared, but I really do not want to go to another family funeral this year. I’m very aware I am lucky to be able to work from home, to be part of a team that’s in touch by dial-in every day, to be surrounded by family & supportive colleagues & able to hide a bit. It’s still a life half lived in comparison with last year, but I think that was going to be true even as I watched the news.
The one found & bought Denby casserole dish, without its lid, is still sat looking bewildered, not catalogued, researched, crooned over & packed away with other Denby, but sat there as if waiting for it’s proper owner to come for it. I should do something about that.11 -
I've been closely monitoring the websites of my fave chazzers, awaiting their opening. Red Cross opened this week, I was in there on the 2nd day. Only 4 people allowed in at once, fewer racks to navigate amongst and hardly any bric a brac. I didn't look at clothes at all but did buy 8 books at 50p each, which was pleasing.
Isn't it great to be back in the chazzers again?!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
