I return defeated and empty handed. They were all closed.
oxfam may have been open but it was a further walk in the other direction and my ankle is playing up!

Woo hoo.....my first chazza buy since 19th March
A BNWT pair of snazzy hi-tech Bridgedale walking socks in rather fetching shades of lavender and plum. £1 in the Community charity shop but currently selling online for £17.49!!!!!! (They do have a 3 yr guarantee tho
)
Still very few charity shops open here - Cancer Research, Sue Ryder Vintage, Cat's Protection, BTRS. Martin House Hospice, RSPCA and big Sue Ryder all closed still. BHF and Community shop open as normal and Oxfam opening Thurs, Fri & Sat from 10-3pm from this Thursday.
Have been invited out for dinner at a local restaurant this Saturday but feel very conflicted about going. Would like to support the place as they have been very good to the local residents this last few months and also love the thought of being able to wear a frock and heels for the first time in months but........ I know they have all the safety measures in place but I still feel wary out in public and try and avoid normal shops and public transport. Have to make an effort to try and get back to some semblance of normality tho I guess.8 -
Red Cross, 4 books for £1.50. Not sure if any other shops are open yet. I know Sense and the local furniture recycling shop are both still closed.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.8

I think a lot of people feel like that about going out, I work as an online shopper so ive been working all through, however i did change my hours to start so i start at 3am and finish at 7am so i dont meet that many shoppers, even so i still dont fancy going out at the moment, I would just rather not take the chance, if you go out at the restaurant, enjoy yourself and have a great time:-)

I seem to have found my chazza mojo again! I found out last night that our local CRUK huge clearance store has reopened so this afty I set off on the 1 1/2 hr treck there and back thinking the walk in the sunshine would do me good. Of course the heavens opened on the way back
Anyhoo, soon as I got inside I spotted a pair of b/n Clarks tan leather sandals priced at £10. Sort of gladiator stylee with ankle straps and a t-bar with pewter stones on. Bit pricy for a chazza but I haven't spent anything in a charity shop for months and I knew they would be very useful. Didn't try them on but Clarks are usually OK for fit. Then I found a Uniqlo BNWT 3/4 sleeve t-shirt in a light brown shade for £2, lovely fabric and seems quite well made. Both items are in quarantine for a few days then the top will be washed and the sandals will be wiped over with antibacterial wipes. Does everyone do this now?
Also heard that the St Gemma's Hospice clearance shop has reopened in the city centre....somewhere else to walk to tomorrow - gonna be sooooo fit at this rate7 -
Travelling via Chorley, found the The Children's Society shop was open but BHF, Sense, the "chains" were still resolutely shut. Peered carefully at everything pottery but nothing had my curves or colours & so limped away thinking "maybe next week".
Miro, absolutely support your restaurant with your most "cor!" frock and enjoy. As for after-shop protocol;, I wash in soapy water (& rinse with boiling) any recent china acquisitions. Me, I'd likely whip clothes into the wash at once, but we're not even looking at clothes at the minute.4 -
Finished work at 4pm yesterday so made a quick dash down to a local chazzer to find it closed before it's finish time of 4.30pm, I needed to head in that direction anyway. Was back at my desk for another meeting at 5pm so it was a good burst of exercise!Yesterday I noticed my first conker of the year....it is only early July!!!No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.6
