Magpie - have you tried relaxed skinny jeans? Well done on your finds, I have North Face boots and they are fab, had them for years and have walked 100's of miles in them, hope your jacket gives you many years of service too.

Dolly, I'm in such a funk about jeans that I've barely tried anything! They are the one thing I really don't seem to be able to understand anymore. I am an hourglass (so good with dresses) but with a bit of a tummy - and with a small waist. I can often be a 10 on top and a 14 on the bottom (due to hips/thighs) - and then of course jeans that fit there will gape on the waist...it's a minefield!

I'm fairly toned so as I say I don't mind skinnies from that POV, but I do feel I need to branch out a bit. All the young things I work with now and wearing mom jeans and much more relaxed fits, but I just feel like extra material flapping round my flappy bits only makes things worse!

However. 'relaxed skinnies' sound like a sensible next step - I just need to find a morning to go somewhere when it is quiet and try them on. It's dispiriting though. so much choice with jeans and yet precisely none of them seem to work on me any more.

The ones I bought this week are good, though - I wouldn't have spent £44 on them new but they fit, are a 'straight' cut, and I think will look good with the bottoms rolled up and trainers in the springtime. But I shall keep looking.

DfV - wishing you continued strength on all fronts - I REALLY hope you can make the horsewoman fantasy a reality, but if not, a nod to her at least in some way, to keep your spirits up. the cheering you on continues. M100 X

    Another Karma-y find.
On 2nd Jan I took a loved one to hospital and had a 2 hour wait so I went to the local 3 charity shops.
Shop one I found a Jamie Oliver Royal Worcester breakfast set for 2 , cosy cup and saucer, side kick plate and bowl. I paid £6.99 the lot. The individual pieces are on Amazon for a total of ....£75.90. That made a xmas present for a family couple that I didn't see until 5th.

Then I found a set of 4 large pretty mugs. Maxwell and Williams chichi sunset. They were 99p each. No longer available on Amazon but on fleebay for £29.99

Finally a long strip of material, Clarke and Clarke 'teacups' design, £3.99. If I get my sewing mojo back this year I will make shopping bags for xmas presents
Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound in weight. Target 13 lbs weight loss. 18.5lbs lost 2nd May - 28 September.

magpie - Mom jeans may surprise you with how they fit, worth trying a pair at least, also Levi's do loads of fits, you can look on the website for inspiration then look for the style in the cs's.

Dfv I’ve not been on here for a while and you have my condolence on the death of your son. Well done for thinking of MIL and your parents and everyone but don’t forget yourself. I will be donating some stuff to the cs and planting a tree whilst thinking of him.

Today dd,dh and I went to Nettlebed, en route to second dds new digs in Greenwich. As we are in East Yorkshire it would have been rude to make the journey south with her stuff without calling into nettlebed.

We got, 6 Denby dinner plates not sure of pattern but at 10p each couldn’t say no. Emma bridgewater oven gloves in black toast. A bit grubby but will spray liberally with elbow grease and pop in the washer 50p. Some very nice Cath kidston curtains £1 per curtain and an Emma bridgewater vintage bowl which is lovely a bit pricey at £8 but others currently on eBay for £35

Make the most of Nettlebed bobsa1, it is only running until March and then it’s most likely going to close :( Only four more sales to go!

I was there this morning, early and just briefly. The best part was taking a sneaky peak inside the house, which had been partly done out to resemble the interior of Liberty’s in readiness for filming an episode of Grantchester!

Wow miro that's amazing. DD would like a silk pillowcase but they are £45 in JL so I was just searching on here for ideas.

I will be off to the charity shop to try and find a suitable silk item. In the meantime I've remembered there is a satin PJ top in one of the bags waiting to go to charity that I could have a trial run with. I'm not the best at sewing and I'm sure silk is very slippery to work with.
