I wear long floaty dresses in summer and on hols. I eat out once or twice a week, (sometimes at quite oawsh restaurants as a friend writes restaurant reviews for local mags and newspapers and I get to go as the +1:D), so sometimes I can wear a nice dress then. Also we have regular opera and ballet performances at our local olde worlde theatre and lots of people dress up for that. Then, other than family celebrations, it's jeans and trousers:o0 -
Can I ask a big favour?
Im looking for a DVD, Ive been looking a long long time and over here, in a small place where the sheep follow the cows, Im not finding it
If anyone finds me a copy of SLING BLADE starring Billy Bob Thornton and are willing to buy it, watch it, copy it and then post it on to me, Ill be more then happy to reimburse P+P and cost of the film
Its a film I watched with half an eye one day, and got sucked in. So much so I watched to the end and re watched it, then watched it another two times in that week. It is a brilliant film and I would love my own copy of it
So Im putting the feelers out to you guys on the mainland where there is more chance of finding it
There are some Region 1 (US) and Region 2 (Europe). Please put out food and water for the birds and hedgehogs0 -

Thankyou SuperMoose, trust me not to think of eBay, but I rarely buy from there so it never dawned on me to look :rotfl:
Miro has come to my rescue
May I suggest though, that if anyone ever sees a copy, snap it up. Its a brilliant film0 -
On Saturday I bought 3 dvd's for £1, one of which I had been looking for for a while, the others were to make up the offer, we will watch them then redonate. I also bought a BNWT BHS Christmas cushion for £2. I feel like I've already posted this but never mind.
Whilst there I saw 3 gorgeous pictures for £4 each, they were too big to carry and we were walking a long way so I went back yesterday and bought them. They are in beautiful oak frames, nicely mounted and backed, I can't remember what it says on the back but it is linocut or lithograph or something, one is a stag, one a fox and the other a badger. Originally a set of 4 with a hare but that wasn't there.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Funnily enough I wear most of my dresses and skirts in winter, as I can layer thermals under my tights and that keeps me much toastier and comfier than trying to do the same under jeans (of the skinny kind, at least).
Whether something will keep me warm given the air conditioning in the office is becoming my #1 reason for purchase (or non-purchase, as the case may be)...0 -

Yes there seems to be sales on DVD's in many charity shops. It must be because of the New Year clear outs that people are having.
I bought 1 DVD on Saturday. I was told at the counter there was an offer of two for the price of one so I spent the next ten minutes looking for another DVD. The second one was Shutter Island. It was worth going back and getting a second one as Shutter island was brilliant edge of the seat stuff. My first choice of DVD was a sequel to a film I had seen before, but in the box was the original film. A bit of a downer, but Shutter Island made up for it.
Note to self. When buying CD's or DVD's in charity shops or car boot sales always check the inside before buying. I was nearly caught out at a car boot sale once as before handing over my money I had a look in the box to find it empty. BTW before anybody asks I will not be asking for my money back from the charity shop.0 -
I am just not looking forward to playing hunt the funeral outfit. The in-laws would be so pained if I didn't wear a skirt, so I have to sort frock, shoes - all the fuss.
Of course I have got sharp black workwear but I have fattened too far to wear it & anyway it was Professional B*tch wear not loving mother stuff.
Plus I will not try to grieve in those heels.
I have a wonderful big black overcoat already, hallelujah, but oh the rest... Ah well. Find one outfit, wash it, wear it, re-donate it.0 -

Wear what feels right to you, not anyone else.
Your instincts are good.
Your son will approve.
Lots of hugs from me.0
