Miro - you're right about the faux leather, it's the same with boots as well, when my kids were little I used to buy a certain type of boot in faux leather with a moulded sole which came up the boot a bit and they never needed more than a wipe over and their feet were always bone dry, similar idea to wellies but much more comfortable and stylish.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Miro - well done on the Cos trousers - I love Cos! They are Scandinavian and I think owned by H&M. Cos, Arket, and Other and Stories and H&M are all part of the same group, but with very different markets and pricing.
I have just returned from a dispiriting trip to my local CS. Still feels very low on stock and overrun with new Christmas decorations (it's a Sue Ryder). I in fact spotted a Cos oversized slouchy cardi - it was both 'L' and designed to be huge, and even I who am always desperate to stay warm couldn't justify £5 for it. It was way too big and not in great condition.
There was a really beautiful Ted Baker frock coat in black, with a beautiful silk (prob not actually silk, but you know what I mean) lining for £25. I tried it on. It would be great to wear if you needed a coat for a smart funeral (if you know what I mean!) - very dressy and well cut. I just wasn't sure about it, though. I can never remember how Ted Baker sizing works but looking online I see that a '4' which is what this was is a large. Which explains how the nice waist belt was giant on me. I was tempted but for £25 it would have to be a perfect fit, and it wasn't.
Other than that I wanted to buy a gold bumbag - just the thing for Christmas parties (I am only half joking!). £3.85 but from Primark, so probably not that much of a bargain.
Thin pickings recently but I have time on Saturday to have a rummage round a town I did quite well with on Saturday...hope everyone is having more success than me recently!0 -

Had a trip into town yesterday to the proper pawsh shops and called into Cos just to have a squiz. They have some really nice stuff but very high prices. Have shortened the giraffe length legs of the trousers and also took them in over the hips by about 1/2 inch each side, (just tapered the seam up and down so I didn't have to faff with the waistband), so am really pleased with the fit now.
Did my weekly trip to Otley this afty, only spent 2 x 20p's in the 20p shop. A pair of 'soft-step' woollen insoles for some winter boots and a large offcut piece of cream curtain lining to make some more storage bags for my 'good' handbags. I had a similar 'coat' experience to your Ted Baker one, (sounds fab by the way!), only mine was a Hobbs jacket - black cashmere and wool with a great lining, perfect condition and priced at £20 in Oxfam. It felt just a bit snug tho with the buttons fastened so I left itI spent some time yesterday swanning around the high end shops, Ted Baker, LK Bennet, Coast, Hobbs, Jigsaw and Whistles trying on winter coats.....not a good idea!! Have now fallen in love with a bottle green Whistles coat...a snip at £279  Although I have no intention of buying it, (til it turns up in a chazza
!!), it was rather ironic when I saw that the style name on the swing ticket was the same as my first name.....:(

DH struggled to get started with a report he had to write today so off we went to the £1 cs. We got a very good condition four wheeled cabin size suitcase by IT . It’s mustard coloured and looks barely used. I would imagine £30 or so new. Dh got a pair of jeans only primark but look nice. I then got two feather cushions, the cushions themselves are fine but I actually got them for the cushion pads. I also got a present for eldest dd stocking, a collectible aluminium coke bottle from the 2012 olympics , new in box 50p. They seem to be on eBay for £4.99 or so. I thought 50p for a stocking filler was a good deal. Lastly I got a jacket, I’ve not heard of the make so off to investigate. It’s 80% silk so I’m guessing it won’t be cheap0

Bit of a haul in the local hospice shop this afternoon.i got a pair of m&s short jeans £3.99 - still have inspection stickers on label. A linen Boden top in a gorgeous Air Force blue with beaded neck trim £3.40. A patterned fat face T-shirt with a lovely texture - looks unworn and still has that crisp unwashed feel to it £2.95 and a 3/4 sleeve mantaray top with buttons on back and a tie at the hem on the front £3.95. Really pleased with my goodies.0

I'm exactly the same. There is no way I would have anywhere near the amount of clothes I have if I was paying new prices.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
