I was tempted by some M & S Egyptian cotton bedding today in the Mind shop. Still in the packaging, grey/blue colour, super-king sized duvet cover & 2 pillow cases, £42!! (Originally £70 for the cover and £12 each for the pillow cases) Was a bit put off by the 200 thread count tho as it seems a bit low, (and the price!!) Thought about unpicking the duvet cover and making it into 2 sheets but decided not really worth it so left it. Think this will hang about for a while at that price if I change my mind.
Went back and got it! D/C now converted into two flat double sheets. Had some hefty spends in the chazza shops this week.....might have to mortgage the cat at this rate:(0 -

Miro hunts very well - I imagine Albert could be inspired, but how do you persuade a cat that assorted mice are the equivalent of cashmere, scarves & Hobbs coats of a particular shade?
Says she, who on hearing scrabbling noises, checks up on availability of Godfather & terrier-mix dog...0 -
I had 20mins to kill today prior to doing my volunteer collection for Olio the food waste app (try it if you haven’t already it’s great) so I popped in the cancer research cs. It’s one of these £2/£3 ones with some things they deem expensive marked up higher.
Anyway I found a pair of these

Unworn and in DD’s size for £3. Earlier this week we had been discussing her need for walking boots for DofE that she is doing in the summer. I was delighted with my find and she can spend the next few months wearing them in0 -
bobsa - I had the Olio app but it hasn't really taken off in my area yet so I deleted it.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

We went on a hunt for a nice store cupboard. It happened to take me past Denby etc so while we didn’t find the desired cupboards, we came home with a few treats...
At British Heart Burnley there were 7 Denby Studio teacups & saucers (3 teacups were basestamped Bourne, making them still older!)
Emmaus Burnley spoiled me rotten! Both a Langley daisyware vase with a basestamp & three Denby arabesque cups & saucers. Carefully wrapped in wallpaper to help me get them home whole, bless ‘em!
At Colne Pendleside hospice, 6 Langley Canterbury egg cups were just waiting for me. There was also a chevron coffee pot but at over 14” height & well outside Acquisition Committee prices, I managed to walk away. Just.
Saw a Denby gypsy teapot & coffee pot but was hunting cupboards first & didn’t zag back. Pendleside hospice furniture Burnley if anyone yearns?!0 -

Absolute haul of Halloween and Disney Princess/Star Wars/Marvel outfits for DS and DD (3yrs and 18mths) in current and future sizes. Especially impressed with Princess dresses from Disney store that are usually about £15-25, bought for £2.50 each or less.
all but one of our six CS in town always has a rail of costumes through October. Now they're going back into storage and all the Xmas clothing comes out. Get the kids great jumpers for the charity 'xmas jumper day' on Dec 13th this year, for less than £2 rather than brand new ones which are about £10 a go judging by what I've seen this week!!
They both enjoy dressing up and once done with I will pass them on to DS's preschool dressing up supply.Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Jan 2012: £16,000+ [STRIKE] Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Sep 2013: £13,023 [/STRIKE]

Hurrah for dressing up stuff! Hours of fun for all the family, just please be careful not to go near real fire? The costumes are pretty (M&S usually even washable) but yikes they melt...
Says she who has a couple of capes & assorted tunics of wool & linen to encourage the lads to play in safety. Getting them to lay down their weapons took some doing but food helped.0
