Yesterday I got a BNWT Joules off the shoulder top, pink and white stripes and embroidered sleeves, the CS originally had it at £6 but it was on the sale rail for £2 (nothing in between), it's a 10 but it looked roomy and it fits me just fine.
I tried on (in BHF) a lovely Joules tunic/dress yesterday in duck egg blue with big pink and yellowy-gold flowers.
It was an eye-wateringly expensive £10.50.
It was slightly too long for me - which I was secretly pretty pleased about as if it had fitted me perfectly I would then had a long debate with myself about the price. :naughty:

My Air Ambulance shop has had depleted stock for the last couple of weeks. :(

Was tempted by two items today....but talked myself out of buying them :A

First item was a Gucci vintage handbag on display in the Mind shop window and priced at £35. I don't know enough about Gucci bags to be able to tell if it was genuine or not and I didn't inspect it too closely in case I was tempted :o I do love a nice vintage bag tho and this was in dark brown embossed leather in a hobo sort of style. The leather felt gorgeous and the bag seemed very well made ......hmmmmm.

Second item was in the big Sue Ryder place...an M & S short black leather jacket priced at £15. Zipped up front and fitted back with hardly any wear (if at all) and lovely soft leather. Twas just so darned hot I couldn't he bovvered trying it on and didn't really 'need' it. Will probably be wafting by both shops again on Friday so may end up having a really good squiz if both items are still there. :p

Almost talked myself out of going out bargain hunting today due to the heat and humidity.....glad I did go tho :j

Called into the Mind shop first and had a jolly good look at the Gucci handbag. Not at all sure if it was Gucci or 'Gucci'!!! The quality just didn't seem there somehow so I left it. Then on to the Sue Ryder shop hoping the M & S leather jacket would still be there. It was! Could have done with a size smaller really but as I tried it on over a thin summer dress it will probably be fine over thermals and a big woolly pully later on. Also picked up a pair of bnwt dark blue jeans by 'Heidi' for £4.

Then decided to go into town and check out the M & S 90%* off sale as someone posted on MSE that it started today. Course I had to stop off in a couple of chazza shops on the way there. In the second one I got a pair of Gap b/n 3/4 trousers in a navy and pale blue wobbly brick pattern. No idea why they were on the 99p rail as I thought Gap was quite expensive. On my way to the till I passed a big basket of scarves....3 for £1. It would have been rude not to have a rummage wouldn't it? Ended up with a huge square wrap type of scarf in shades of orange/brown/black...just perfect for a plain orange dress I got some time ago - very pleased with this! Also got a pashmina stylee plain amethyst coloured scarf and a cotton square one in peach and white with tassels in alternating colours all round the edge.

    * M & S sale was a waste if time unless you are a size 6 or a size 24+

I have a big wrap in those colours, mine is one of those shaped ones that sits across your shoulders like a shawl and is thick like a blanket scarf, I think I paid £2 for it a couple of years ago.

    Good finds btw.

Well I ended up braving the heat today, despite saying I wasn't going to

I went Charity shopping to a lovely area that has five shops in close vicinity

I had hopes that I might be able to kit myself out for my new job - but ended up buying a couple of bits that are not for work

so this is what I got:-

1 x black and white dress (Next)
1 x dress - very slightly boho style ok for work (Monsoon)
1 x dungaree dress (not for work, but couldn't resist (George)
1 x pair of Jeans with lovely detailing on the pockets (Per Una)
1 x Lacy black top (Next)
1 x multi coloured boho style wrap/cardi (Wallis)
1 x lovely little lightweight black jumper/top (Shapely figures?)
1 x slightly goth looking jumper/top - with ribbon detailing (Firetrap)
1 x black top with zips on shoulders (f&f) - this is my absolute fave

I am really pleased with my bits and pieces and all for £22.50

I think this is fantastic.... and from three of the shops, there were another two within a very short walk, but I couldn't bear being hot any more and felt I had done, and spent, enough for one day - especially as I am not earning until my new jobs starts

I do love charity shops. Most of the clothes I own are second hand

Anyway, just thought I would update, love to all x

Pretty much all my recent purchases are second hand, I've been doing it exclusively (apart from the obvious new purchases) for a few years and I wear them for work and no one would ever know.

I love it when I find something I really love.

For my new job now, I think the only thing I will have to buy new, is a couple of multi packs of tights. I have had them from Asda before so I think I will pop in there
The opposite of what you know...is also true

I've found this for a while.

I usually have a mooch in case I see something that will sell on eBay, in our M&S there was very little of anything left at all.

I mentioned I found & bought teacups recently? Today in Huddersfield I found their teapot. Frankly only a Denbyholic could love the shape of a sandalwood teapot! (Stratford collection, Pollycat, p92 top left)

And a tiny Spode espresso cup - Mission Creep, argh! Just beautiful & tiny & I’m a sucker.

Plus an unstamped fleet of 8 dinner plates 6 saucers & 5 teacups which we Think are Denby greystone - teacup shape like Camelot (p91) but colour more grey brown almost fur not as deep brown as Russet (p87)

Inspired by all you snappy dressers, I stumped up two pounds on a pair of unbleached linen capri pants which (if they fit around my widest parts) I will wear as trousers, & if not convert to linen food carrying bags. Defending the planet from the plastic peril one judicious purchase at a time!

Himself has the largest domestic Mason Cash bowl & this completes his desired set of genuine British Mason Cash ware. In the other hand, a brand new tyzack saw, and if you carry a newspaper, rubber bands & a leather shoulder strap loop on your cs forays, you should have joined us! as lugging that back through the rain in two bags for life was tricky work.

He also picked up a toolbox clearly used in school 100% British made & unusually not clobbered nor rusted - til I read the previous owner’s name label - Edna K took care of her kit!
The greatest delight was a tenner’s worth of Rotring pens. New est RRP over £200 but we can restore them back to as new in a few hours & then let youngest plead for them.

I did see a pair of muddyfox cycling shorts (padded but so new still had All Labels) but son didn’t pick up the mobile & so missed out. I don’t blue £8 on spec for him, he’s a fiendish picky mortal. (Can’t Imagine where he gets That from...)

Have ventured out in the rain looking for clothes for a rapidly growing DS. For him I got

2 x white school shirts, unworn £1.50 (not much cheaper than new but this is in the interest of sustainability rather than money saving)

1 pair of mens small Next skinny shorts £3.50
1 pair of mens small Topshop skinny grey denim shorts £3.50
Next tan trousers in a jeans style with twisted seams £3
Abercrombie and Fitch burgundy and black check shirt £3
Grey t shirt with skull print £1
Black Gap zip hoodie £4 - looks as new

For DD a BNWT Next 'Phoebe' ?? bra £2.50

For me a long sleeved button up blouse in mustard colour with litlle black flower shapes and black piping £3.49 and a teeny tiny whisk for when I make my hot chocolates (vegan so don't do instant), 10p, I have been looking for one of these forever.

I found a M&S 100% cashmere cardigan in cream, it was on the sale rale at £8.99 with a red line through the price but no other price, I went and asked the guy on the till how much it was, half price he said but it was damaged - not the cashmere but the bias binding type of fabric which ran down the button hole side. This guy is argumentative and wouldn't check with the manager about the price, said it should be perfect and took it off sale - fool.

I am a lover of all things curtain as I think posh looking drapes can make a room. Today I got a stunning pair of Sanderson floral curtains not sure where they will live but at £14.99 for wide and long curtains I could not walk away
