I may be in a classroom in Birmingham but there's a denby tasmin teaset with my name on back in Lancashire. Himself saw it & sneered at the colourroll anaemic design whereas I locked onto the shape and the teapot, jug, lidded sugar, cups & saucers & evenssalt & pepper. So he'll be going back to buy it, as I called the four most likely shops then him, then him, then the right shop & it has our name on it... This August I will be cataloguing the great wall of china.0

I read recently that it is expected that second hand shopping will overtake 'normal shopping' in the next decade. That is music to my ears but I do wonder what will happen to the prices. TBH though if the worst came to the worst I have a SABLE clothes situation providing I don't lose or gain dramatic amounts of weight.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

SABLE? I've missed something there.
Yes there has been a lot on TV recently about the throw away society and how some people only wear things a couple of times then chuck it. Explains why so many c/shop clothes look like new. It wouldn't worry me if I never bought new again, so long as there's still new undies and socks obviously. Most High Streets have more chazzers than boutiques now anyway, and even M&S and Debenhams are closing branches, so there won't be much left soon. I find it eye watering that "proper" shops are still charging £30+ for a pair of jeans, when most of mine were the south side of a fiver.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I'd love to see the catalogue when you've finished.
Done the charity shops in the centre of Leeds (another concert) and bought...nothing.1 -
Another one here who doesn't know what SABLE situation means, but suspect I too may have it!Norn Iron Club member 4730

I have only been to Leeds for an hour or so, killing time between trains, but I have never found any charity shops in the streets anywhere reasonably close to the station. Is there another area somewhere, that I can head to next time?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Very few in the city centre...just 2 in the Merrion Centre (BHF & St Gemma's I think) and one on Lands Lane....another near the market. Best bet, if you have time, would be to get the bus (No 1) from near the train station out to Headingley...about a 10 min run.
I dunno what SABLE means either!!0 -

I checked yell.com before I went.
There are enough to keep me occupied but the RSPCA on New Market St is closed.
I missed St Gemma's in Merrion though.
I found all the shops quite small and cluttered.
I've really not got back into it since my enforced absence.0 -
i like reading about all your finds, not really found anything myself but this page spurs me on to go back and have a look!0
