Does anyone know West Kent/East Sussex at all?

We’ll be there next week and will check out the charity shops in Rye, Whitstable and Ramsgate!

Back in from Wigan & Bolton. 6 Denby Cotswold teacups, a Lovatts green bowl & 2 manor green things that make sense as candlesticks but are also tiny vases glazed onto saucers.

Youngest found & bought DVDs! Groused throughout despite this, & was unimpressed by the Armed Forces fun & ignored his father’s birthday, oops.

I was very happy to get another husky jute tote with superdry & the Union Jack in scarlet on it. Nice solid bags for carrying Denby home always welcome! Although himself borrowed it to lug an armful of books back - Only physically heavy reading, for a change!

I'm back from a lovely holiday lounging about in my CS wardrobe!

I also managed to go for a forage on Wednesday and found the following:

This Alexis Mackenzie for H&M vest top for £3 - so pretty and I can't wait to wear it: https://www.google.com/search?q=alexis+mackenzie+h%26m&rlz=1C5CHFA_enGB829GB829&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi_qqbPy5DjAhU_ShUIHTtuDy4Q_AUIECgB&biw=1440&bih=720&dpr=2#imgrc=J3ZkZjyoHVRj7M:

A grey long-sleeve t-shirt from M&S for £3. Way too warm for now but I like to snap up M&S undershirts when I see them for the winter. This is nice and long in the body, too.

This dress from Apricot (it's in a different material but this exact style): https://www.apricotonline.co.uk/navy-floral-cut-out-neck-dress.html

It's £27 online and I got it for £6. Wore it to a garden party yesterday and it looked fabulous (if I may say so!). I love it so much - it's a really good style fro me. I think you'd be a bit disappointed if you had paid £27 for it - it's made in China and some of the stitching on the sleeves is coming away a little already. One of the many reasons I really resent buying new these days...

A midi shift dress from Topshop. Busy fern pattern in muted greens and blacks. Back hem is (intentionally) longer than the front - I wore it with a belt to work and had many positive comments. £6.99 but looks and feels unworn. Again I think think Topshop is overpriced when new so even though £6.99 is a fair bit I don't mind paying it for something in such good condition.

A black vest top from Next. Sheer, with a shawl collar - will be good as work-to-evening top as smart but a little bit dressy. £3.99. I never ever buy from Next new as I've never really thought I liked their clothes - but I find loads of it in CS's and love lots of it, so that shows me!

A black top from Zara - £3.99. Boxy cut, quite tailored, but with a plunging neckline and a strap across the throat. Might be a bit revealing for work, but another great day-to-evening piece I think.

A long sleeve top, again from Next. Patterned in green and black - sheer thin material with a two-way texture. Sort of a blouson style. Perfect for work.

finally, I have set up an instagram account to show my CS finds. If anyone wants to follow along it's called cheapfrillsx0. There are tons of inspirational people on Instgram showing off their finds, so if it's your thing then have a look!

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun. M100

Was it you who was going to Bermuda/Bahamas?

That dress is lovely, I think you could dress it up or down.
Not my style as I don't have much of a waist :( but very flattering if you do.

Magpie - some lovely things there.

My kids both love CS shopping, DD (15 yo) buys all her clothes from them plus all her books, dvd's and cd's (she's very old school), she likes 80's and 90's style dresses and is always on the lookout for those.

@Pollycat - that's right - it was Bermuda! It was fantastic, and having a wardrobe of mostly charity-shopped clothes was very pleasing.

Dolly - fab to hear about your daughter; I wish I had been that forward-thinking and open-minded when I was her age. It's never too late, though!
  • I bagged a gorgeous H by Halston long cardigan. Very lightweight, edge to edge style with a chiffon edging. It is a blush pink colour and perfect for summer evenings. I paid £2.99 and they are well over £75 new. I'm a very happy MM.
I've given you a follow on Instagram x

A couple of weeks ago DH & I were out walking the dog and someone had a left a chair out to be taken away (hope so as we did take it:rotfl:), it is a 1930's style, solid wood, small hall type chair, interesting leg shape at the front, it weighed a ton and we carried it about 1/2 a mile. Anyway we sanded it, oiled it and recovered the seat and it looks fab.

Yesterday I picked up a TU blouse, it is a sort of thick chiffon fabric, black with burgundy, cream and burnt orange floral pattern, gathered cuffs, long sleeves and a gathered neck line with a black sash tie to the back in the same fabric as the blouse, £3.

Yesterday resulted in two shirts and two waistcoats (one Topman, two Next and one without a label) for DsS for several birthday functions he's got coming up and another JoJoMamaBebe waistcoat for DS for one of the parties as well for a total of £11, five items, all but one good brands so I was quite happy about that.

Completely forgot to get teacher gifts but MiL off loaded another on me on Sunday anyway so only two to get now
