Denby Dreamweavers (for MrsLW):0

That's gorgeous Polly, thank you so much, I shall keep eyes peeled from now on for both xxx.0

Apologies for going so far off topic but just be aware that both Safari and Dreamweavers aren't as highly glazed as later Denby - they have a slightly rough, matt finish - so they are prone to scratching.0

Are there any 'Radley' handbag experts here please? I'm trying to convince myself I haven't bought a fake!!
Yesterday I spotted a 'Radley' b/n black leather handbag in my local Mind shop. Never really been a "Radley' fan tho I do have one of their bags purchased from John Lewis yonks ago. I had a good squiz at it but decided to leave it as it was priced at £30. Of course I then couldn't stop thinking about it as it was just the right size and shape for me and a useful colour so I went back this morning and it was still there. I had taken some photos of my old bag to check the 'Radley' font/spacing etc, the dog tag thingy and the finish and I gave the bag a good sniff to determine if it was leather. It came with a pale pink dustbag so I checked that too and everything appeared to check out OK. Two things bother me tho....the dog tag is not leather, it is metal and is much smaller than the usual leather one but it has a larger dangly leather disc behind it in grey. I have never seen a metal dog tag before...is this a red flag warning?? There is also another teeny metal dog on a leather patch in front of a zipped compartment inside. Both dogs are stamped with the Radley name. The other thing is....despite a Google search I cannot find any trace of a similar style to this bag!!! Have I made a bit of a blunder?0 -
I hope you can get it authenticated but if it turns out to be fake you can return it. I think it's under the sale of goods act articles must be as described but I do know we have to be very careful in the cs where I work that we don't sell fakes as the real deal. All that clutter used to be money0

Not a Radley expert but I think I've seen a metal dog tag on a kosher bag.
It all sounds good.

On holiday with my husband I’d felt quite shabby in my limited range of second hand summer clothes and had set a budget aside to buy myself some new items to supplement my wardrobe. I had a list in hand, but a friend who I’d arranged a day trip with on Monday had to back out last minute. I felt rather deflated, and decided instead of my trip to the mainstream shops as planned, I’d just visit about four local charity shops. In place of the cancelled 50 mile round trip, I did a convenient 6 mile local run instead. I picked up two pairs of jeans (on the list) of an old favourite cut that M&S used to make, that had always suited me. They seemed to be in good condition (they’re now washed, ironed and fit very well). They were on a £1 for two items rail. I got a leather handbag, some black linen cropped trousers, a pair of Fat Face cropped trousers, a cotton reversible shoulder bag, a Christmas gift to stow away for my grandson - it’s a voice changer megaphone from the Gadget Shop, still in it’s packaging, a Wade Whimsies ornament for a Christmas cracker filler collection I’m accumulating, and a cuff that looks like silver (and apparently tarnishes and polishes like silver), and a costume jewellery ring. I’d bought all but two items on my list. (The Fat Face trousers are probably the least well fitting so I wouldn’t have bought them new, and still feel that in addition, I need some loose summer walking trousers). I picked up four different pots of PlayDoh (all in good condition) for grandchildren entertaining occasions and then came home for lunch. (I’d have eaten out with the friend). So I spent £17.80 which was considerably under the original budget, nearly completed the wish list, found some extras that I know will be part of future plans. I’d also saved money on petrol, and eating and drinking out.0

're the Radley bag:
My very first Radley, bought in TKMaxx* in 2008, had a silver coloured metal tag. It was so long ago that I can't remember if there was a leather disc or not.
* all genuine, back in the days when you could sometimes get really good stuff thereI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Many thanks everyone for your interest in my latest purchase of the Radley bag. After much searching I have managed to find the bag on't'internet..... this is it except mine is the black version which will be much more useful!

I'm now pretty sure it is genuine, (many thanks to Artytarty for the links - they helped a lot). It also helped having an authentic bag for comparison. Everything seems to fit from the fabric used for the bag lining to the design and finish of the dustbag.
*heaves huge sigh of relief!*0
