I’m the early bird that got the worm this morning. I dropped dad no 3 at school and did number 2 at work. Dropped off an eBay parcel, picked up a prescription and was the first person in the cs when it opened at 9am. Anyway I’m on a quest to find Emma bridgewater and resist clothes but a lack of pottery saw me browsing the cardigans. A stunning purple cardigan took my eye and at £4.95 seemed a bargain. Closer inspection showed it was from the cashmere centre and is brand new as has a bag of thread and buttons attached to the label. I’d not heard of the cashmere centre but I’ve just looked it up and my cardigan is currently for sale at £179! I’m thrilled
    A great bargain. :T
I found the Cashmere Centre a month or so ago:

I think I may have a bargain...but Miro may come along to rain on my parade. ;)

    I've bought a BNWT 60% cashmere/40% silk scarf.
It's from the 'Cashmere Centre' which is apparently based in Little Horwood, Bucks.
Their scarves are £29.99 in the sale, usually £35.00.

I think the colour might be 'fizz wizz'.

I paid £1.00 from Age UK.

    It's in the freezer. :D

It may end up mine or I might pop it away for a gift for a friend.
The colour names are fabulously inventive.
It may be fizz whizz? Not London Red or Turkish Delight or Evening Gown or Honeybee or Grapevine - I moused over the entire palette, awed & chuckling!

It's now out of the freezer and in my bag of presents awaiting consideration of who is going to have it (will probably be me :D).

    ETA:
Talking of being the early bird, I saw a couple of things that interested me on Monday but left them behind.
On reflection, I went back and bought them yesterday.
BNIB Dartington wine tumblers, signature collection by Tony Laithwaite. £3.30 Hospice shop.

Empty biscuit tin in the shape of a Scottish terrier. £1.00 Barnados

My friend has that breed and the tin dog has a collar on with the same name as her dog.
So I'll fill it with bits and pieces and give it to her for birthday and Christmas.

Had a trundle round the local charity shops this afty. In the community shop I found an M & S Collection, brown checked, knee length trench coat in very good condition but obviously been worn as had a tissue in the pocket :o. Reduced to half price - £3.50. Says dry clean only but tempted to sling it in the washer. Says it is 100% Polyester and doesn't say anything about any special finishes like Stormwear???? Then in the Barnardo's shop I got a b/n M & S Collection silky floral pattern oversized shirt in beige green and orange. Priced at £4 which is a bit more than I usually pay for tops but I have a couple of pairs of trousers it will go perfectly with. Found it online priced at £49. :)

I bought a 'new' still in original package, Lan-Air-Cel pure wool double blanket. For £5.99 at our local hospice shop. Complete with 10 year guarantee card. All I need to do to register it is find a 2d stamp to post the card : )

It's just a pity that when I put it on the bed it made my nose itch : (

Very enjoyable morning at Nettlebed today - at last I found exactly the fireside companion set (tall, black wrought iron, as new condition) that I have been searching for, and it was only £5. Also bought a set of 4 fabulous silver grey Ralph Lauren bath sheets for £1 each, a lovely Monsoon beaded/embroidered cream canvas shoulder bag lined in shocking pink, which will be a lovely holiday bag (£1). A large stainless steel flask for 50p (also with forthcoming holiday in mind), a three tier chrome wall rack with a handful of butcher’s hooks to go on the wall in my utility room (£2), and several La Roche-Posay lotions and potions (all brand new and sealed, £2 each).

Everyone is getting fab bargains at the moment. Today dh and I had a day to ourselves and hit the cs near York. I got some full length Laura Ashley curtains in a lovely stripe for £5 and an Oliver Bonas jumper in pale pink for £4.50. At another cs I got a set of 5 cups and saucers and a milk jug in Indian Tree design which we collect for £3.50, a pair of Wallis jeans for dd for £1 and a stretchy black and red dress which I could wear for work for £1.

On the day of the cashmere cardigan purchase I also went to the low price cancer research shop where I got a Laura Ashley cushion with feather inner (purchased for the inner) £2, a Laura Ashley quilt cover and pillowcases for £3 a Zara shirt for dd that’s sort of cropped and boxy fitting which seems to be her go to style £3 and a pair of very nice interlined curtains £5. All in all I’ve spent quite a lot in the last few days but I have got some fab bargains

For the first time, I have some bargains to post! I often buy bits and bobs but don't consider them bargains as such, but I went to visit my mum and popped in to a charity shop to look for some sewing patterns. No sewing patterns, but lots of lovely baby clothes, some never used, some only lightly used. 2 from H&M, 1 from m&s, 1 Swedish brand, and then my real bargains- 3 organic cotton bits, one by frugi. I've looked at them before and can't justify £17 an item or more. My bargains? 50p each! Even better as my mum paid for them :rotfl:
    Make £2025 in 2025- £751.88/£2025
    Make £2024 in 2024- £852.21/£2024

97/200- bust my craft stash 2025!
166/200- bust my craft stash 2024! £106.80 spent
211/200- bust my craft stash 2023!

Some wonderful finds! I have that pasta thing I think - a godsend for feeding teenagers. Oooh a real wool blanket- Himself having allergies to wool dust I may not wear wool but I can daydream!

An excellent few pieces - a Disney large Kermit onesie (youngest does a very good Kermit voice) - a pound! (A couple of inches long in the leg but the lad wore it happily!)

Plus two lab beakers with measurements along the side of the sort I used in chemistry decades ago, which we can use for the really icky tasting chemicals & solvents... Seventy five pence apiece!

One lovely Denby jug seen but £8 - the acquisition committee said no....
